Trailer

Yall ever catch this show?

They are basically mini documentaries about Outlaw country (S1) and Funk (S2) artists that Mike Judge animates over. I recently did a month trial for Cinemax and have since watched all of the available episodes, highly recommend.

Anyone have knowledge of a potential Season 3?

Saw this and was hoping Judge would do an episode about his old band mates Doyle Bramhall and Anson Funderburgh. Maybe S3? There are a couple of funny details about Anson that not many people know about.

I only saw Season 1 - watched it with my Mom and we both loved it.

The show truly lays bare how absurd the hand wringing over rap/pop star behavior is today - as if it's somehow a new thing. If anything, they are LESS hardcore today.

I was hoping this was announcing a season 3. Really liked the show.

Mr. Anderson. I only ever saw Hank as that for like the first full season because I couldn't get the voice out of my head.

I wish he would consider doing a season about wrestlers. The Nature boy should get 2 episodes at least.

The trailer reminds me of the Ricky Gervais show with Karl Pilkinton...I will check this out for sure.

It's worth burning your Cinemax free trial if you haven't already.

I think there will be a Season 3 (and I'm speculating it could either be 70s rock star, "Almost Famous" type era - Nuge, Ozzy, Zeppelin, Moon the Loon, etc., or 80s Hair Metal).

It looks like there are a bunch of clips on YouTube. Johnny Paycheck was a fun watch.

wasn't there a story about Waylon tying someone famous to a tree? I seem to remember laughing my arse off what he said.

It was George Jones - I think they covered that in the George Jones episode - Shooter was a source for the country season, appearing (in animated form) in several episodes, including the George Jones and, obviously, Wayon Jennings episodes.

George Jones: I'm the greatest country singer alive!

Waylon Jennings: Well, now you're tied to a frickin' tree.
