Recently discovered Flanagan.

Have seen A Haunting of Bly Manor, HUSH, Midnight Mass.

This guy is legit the best hands down. The storylines are outstanding and the cinema is too perfect. He recently did Carrie on Prime, anyone see it? Apparently he is doing the Exorcist with Scarlett Johannson.

Flanagan is like Robert Eggars but in English and contemporary times. Horror that's well-produced but not scary at all.

I do like Midnight Mass a lot.

I don't know if Flanagan has made something scary since Hush, and that's on that thriller-horror border.

The trailer for the new Exorcist movie didn't look very promising.

Is Clayface scary? That's the only option I see

Probably the best filmmaker in Hollywood today. The bulk of his projects have been filmed in Georgia and Alabama so he clearly has an affinity for the south.

Check out the movie put him on the map (Absentia). It's super low-budget (borderline student film quality in terms of production), but it's creepy as frick and a solid movie despite its limitations.

I thought The Haunting of Hill House had some scary moments. The episode with the long shots at the funeral home were fantastic in that regard. He just only had one really good jump scare in that later in the series.

Not at all, but that’s not really Flanagan. The script was changed quite a bit by the director

I find his stuff isn't that scary though.

Its very good and looks good but it just isn't scary at all.

Production design is top notch though.

You haven’t seen Haunting of Hill House?

Also, Hill House is scary. Especially if you notice all the times there are ghosts in the scenes just watching

That’s the best kind. I like spooky vibes with good story.

People who want to be legit terrified and disturbed by media are fricked in the head, IMO
