Show needs more Harry Crane.
This.
As much as I love watching Don and his life slowly crash and burn, we are missing out on some serious opportunity with other characters. We at least finally got to see Stan out of the work setting even if it was for only a couple seconds.
I would like more Ginsberg, Benson, Cutler, Roger, Crane, and Joan.
Maybe all of this Don time is foreshadowing his epic downfall.

Ted might be my favorite person from this season of Mad Men. I've gained a ton of respect for him since he's finally started to throw some blows back at Don and stop acting like a doormat.
By doing what? Talking about how he wants "his" juice. I thought more highly of Ted before he joined the office actually. I feel ike he alows himself to be drawn into Dons games far more easily than I expected.

Quite true. Ted is more a slave to his own ego than Don. Don understands how acting a certain way will get you what you want in business and in personal relationships, but his ego is definitely not tied to it. Ted needs to compete with Don, as long as business is coming in, Don does not need to compete with Ted.

Don is an arse.
"Kid can't run forever...not my problem."
Yeah, but you sure like running forever.

Spot on. The world is less dazzled by him than it used to be. I believe the sloppiness is due more to weakness than choice.

When will Don be diagnosed with AIDS?

I'm new to this side of the board but I'm a huge Mad Men watcher (took me a few weeks to catch up due to 1-hour episodes but nothing a few business trips in hotels couldn't fix).
My question is this, has anyone on here hypothesized that the end of this show will be related to the opening credits and have Don jumping out the office building?

it's been discussed many times on other mad men forums I've checked out. I still don't get the vibe that Don kills himself.

Honestly? just about everyone that's watched the show. Though plenty of people think Pete is going out that window instead of Don.

I agree. I think Don is gonna go out "Not with a bang, but a whimper." He's just going to be a dinosaur by the end of the show, with the world having completely passed him by. As we saw last night, he's horrible at the elder statesman, dealing with clients, gladhanding part of the business. If he is no longer effective as Creative he serves no purpose.
Hilton was a disaster, he ran off Jag, and went off the rails last night with Chevy. He also slept with Rachel Menken, then tried to get her to run away with him like a child, though that didn't cost the firm business.

That's how great the writing is on this show. We are all where they want us to be. We have all liked Don even with his bullshite. But right now, even most of his loyal fans aren't liking him and see him being sloppy and screwing up in business and personal life. We all want more of Stan, and Harry, and Roger, and Cutler, and a guy they just introduced this year.
How many shows can have their audience wanting the role players more than "the man" and still be so loyal to the whole? This season has been awesome. I think Pete might be gay and Bob sensed it. Like someone else mentioned in this thread, Bob is whoever someone needs him to be.
I can't wait to see how the fallout from Sally shapes the rest of this series.

After last season I was surprised they waited so long to do something eventful with Sally.

I think Pete is the one jumping off the building. I think he kills himself.

That would explain his aversion to children and his weirdness with Trudy.

Is Bob Benson supposed to be gay?
Posted on 6/11/13 at 2:07 pm to NIH
We have had no indication thus far that Pete might be gay. He has had plenty of affairs on the show and besides some feminine characteristics, I haven't seen anything to suggest he is gay. He seemed pretty sincere in his disgust with gays in this episode.
