We love it because it was peak Gen X kid's parents. Sorry to hear about the stroke. I got Bell's Palsy at 30ish, and spent a few weeks dribbling shite out of one side of my mouth.

Great show. Odd thing for me was once I found out January was eating her own placenta , I just really started to dislike Betty.
It’s not like she played a good character on the show, but that’s what pushed it over the edge for me. Most of the time, it’s the opposite. If an actor is awesome in a role, it can be hard to take them objectively in another role.

Sorry to hear about that bud. Hang in there and I hope your recovery goes well.

Mad Men creator Matt Weiner said the most important guide for the show is that “people don’t change”. That’s why Don never learns from his mistakes.

The most heartbreaking scene is when Don bares his soul to Betty in “The Gypsy and the Hobo” but their marriage is still doomed.

I rewatch it every other year or so.

It’s in my top 3, all time. Don Draper is one of the greatest, most well-written characters in TV history. And I too pick up something I missed before every time I watch.

Mad Men is just the greatest. I rewatch it fairly regularly.

On S5 right now.

I love all the little things that show how life was different for kids then. Adults smoking around them, no seatbelts, playing with dry cleaner plastic bag, non-parent whipping their arse, etc.

I want a few of the ties that they wore. The ones that are solid colors with a little design. Can’t find them anywhere.

Funny, was just considering a rewatch last night as I checked the HBO Max app and Mad Men was popping up. I did one 2 years ago and picked up on so much more, so it might be time to pick up on some more! One of the best written, best acted series.

Great show. This first came out when I was still in high school. Was an early Netflix streaming option. I used to smoke cigarettes outside and watch it on my laptop. Much different perspective today as a dad and husband.

I want to respond to everybody but I'm actually going to wait till I finish the entire series but yeah there's just parts of it that seems so real especially the relationships as they fall apart

I’m surprised Betty Draper isn’t often mentioned as among the worst series wives ever.

Best of luck to you in your recovery.

Mad men is simply incredible, found myself somewhat emotional throughout the series. Quickest rewatch I’ve had in a long time.
