Change that... It was the baby making it out unscathed from the helicoptor crash that had me like wtf. Not trying to bash the show. Just some things from season 4 that got on my nerves. That baby would have died... it wasnt even crying

I watched the show with a friend of mine off and on while it was on tv, she was obsessed so I gave it a try on netflix, but half way through the third season i just gave up. There is no point there are wayyyy too many episodes per season and I had seen the finale so I knew how much bull shite they just put in there to frick with you and not actually correlate to the plot.

Season 4 was one of my favorites alongside season 3.

The Constant is the standard when judging individual episodes of Lost.

the Desmond/Faraday storyline was fantastic.

If you continue...Lost will be the crappiest TV show you ever saw!!!!!

It's stupid shite like this that bugs me. Everyone has to be so hyperbolic, it's ridiculous.

Lost is a solid show, start to finish. It had potential to be really, really incredible, but like people said, the writers' strike helped frick that up. Also, the writers got to a point where they simply didn't seem to plan things out very well, so it ended up introducing too many plots/subplots/characters/etc, and went in so many directions that it was damn near impossible to tie them all back together.

I don't know how "hardcore" of a fan I was, but I watched it every week since the pilot episode, and partook in almost every thread on here about it. So I was pretty into it. As far as seasons 5 and 6, they're good, as long as you prepare yourself for watching a lot of things that don't really advance the story too far. That's the beauty of watching Lost after it's already over...you can kinda know what to expect, so you won't have such high expectations as people who watched it as it aired.

As for how it ended, I thought it ended fine. Sure, it could have been better, but it also could have been much worse IMO. It ended in a way that, once you see it, is one of the only ways they could have logically ended it. I know a lot of people HATED the ending, but it was fine. I was entertained, which is all I can ask for in a TV show.

So to sum up Lost, it was a show that starts off badass, kinda lulls here and there, but rebounds well from those lulls; then gets good, slow, good again in the last season, and ends decently. And all the while, even though the storylines don't necessarily advance the plot at times, they're still pretty good. All in all, entertaining show IMO.

+1

It's absolutely worth watching to the end. Is it the greatest thing you have ever seen? no. Does it dip in quality? Yup. But almost every show dips in quality by its 5th or 6th season. It's still completely watchable. It's not great, but it's not even close to the worst things on network TV.

It's a good show. It had tremendous high points, but it was maddeningly inconsistent in its last few seasons. When it was on, it was one of the best shows on TV. Its just that the truly great episodes were few and far between in the last two seasons. But most of them are pretty solid.

Honestly, if I was trying to come up with a comparison, it would be Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Towards the end, it often missed the mark and wandered off from what made the show great. but it still had the occassional episode that reminded you that at its best, it was one of the best things on TV.

I would. It doesn't pay off.

And it hasn't held up well either, even within a year. No one even mentions it anymore. BSG is more popular now. Ha.

Now if they did the Sawyer-Miles buddy cop drama, I'd be on board again.

this quote has been bugging me...

Just an honest question... Do you believe this?

If you've made it this far, might as well keep going. I loved LOST and have no regrets at all about watching all 6 seasons, and you have the advantage of not having to wait between episodes. Season 3 is IMO (and a lot of people's) the worst season, and contains by FAR the worst episode. It was way too long with too much fluff. But you've already gotten through that, so just forge ahead. 5 was pretty good and, although a lot of people will disagree, I liked 6 a lot. If you want to you can nitpick stuff to death, but if you just sit back and allow yourself to be entertained I'm sure you'll end up enjoying it. As for the ending, I really liked it. A lot. The 6th season in general was kind of meh but the final episode was perfect to me.

Honestly. I do. I think it's a good quote. Most people get the Catholic Faith wrong. Even Catholics.

I've never got into a religious debate on here and i'm not trying to hate on anyones faith.
My thing was is, what most poeople scrutinize the Catholic church for is not perception, it's reality. There have been some pretty bad things going on for a while now with leaders in the Catholic church all around and a lot of the heat is justified. And all they get is a "relocation" or some slap on the wrist... cmon.

Not talking about people in general, because obviously their are good people in the church.

It's not easy over on the Poli-Talk.

When it comes to this:

Yes. When it comes to the faith itself (which is probably what the quote refers to), No, that isn't reality at all.

But:

1) I would love to continue this discussion, but we can't really take it to the poliboard as it will get out of hand with know-it-all atheists in no time. Maybe through email?

2) The Catholic church is a giant easy target. Easy to hate on.

3) The Catholic church has always been between a rock and a hard place in this instance.

To butt in on your inreasingly Off Topic discussion... I will say, that as a Catholic, I have been downright angry at the Church for how it has handled the priest molestation scandal. I don't think its fair to tarnish every member of the Catholic Church, but the instituiton itself does deserve legit criticism for how it swept a problem like this under the rug. Priests need to be held to higher moral standard, not a lower one.

That is all.

Yes, please. No use in Poli Board-type shite ruining another thread on the movie board.

Ok now back on topic. Im still pissed that little baby didnt die in the plan crash.
Started season 5 last night. I actually liked the first episode. When the show doesnt include 50+ characters in an episode it does much better imo.
