Definitely a good episode, I really wonder how much is gonna get crammed in. They were moving 1,000 miles per in that one.

Jack is the one. There is no doubting it.

Jacob to Jack "Now, you're like me"

It doesn't get any clearer than that.

Unless Jack passes the job along after one day of work, he's the island's protector.

Stop being a LOST tard. I've seen every episode. The campfire scene happened real fast, which makes me think there is more to it than that or as the other poster said, Jack isn't "the one."

People think LOST does tricks just for the sake of throwing us off. If it is stated point blank, especially by Jacob, then thats it. Its finished. Jack is the new Jacob. The writers aren't going to pull a Nelson Muntz and laugh at us.

Pretty good call.

If thats true, which it probably is, then the writers really have shitty pacing based on the number of episodes they have. Still a good episode by itself though.

awesome episode.. so i guess it doesnt matter what you drink as long as you willingly drink, you signify that you are accepting the burden.

on a side note.... i was waiting for Jacob to be witty and say something like "Jack, you only have to take a sip... you dont have to drink all that water, especially since i have used this stream as a urinal for the last 2000 years."

I've noted this before: they have a tendency of spacing out the high-intensity episodes...you can't go full bore the whole time. Now they are going full bore.

Man, I love LOST but they really fricked up the timing on everything. They are going a million miles an hour to fit everything in. We have 6 seasons of who is gonna protect the island, Jacob drops the bomb on them 4, and Jack immediately pops up? Come on, that should have taken a bit longer. Maybe theres a twist coming.

Jack's acceptance of being the protector of the Island has been going since "Dr. Linus" when he lit the fuse. Jack had been contemplating on this for a couple of days, not a couple of minutes. There is no "twist" coming. Jack is Jacob's replacement.

thought it fit great, Jack didn't hesitate and he knew he had come back for a reason.

True, I just thought they would give that campfire scene a little more drama then they did, that's all I'm saying and people freak out. That scene was too important to be so quick. I'm just saying as a writing style, thats all. Good episode.

is it just me, but when Jacob took that water in his hands and chanted whatever he said, was the water turned to wine when he poured it out...it looked kinda reddish to me...or was i seeing things?

i am willing to accept the responsibility of protecting the island if Jack gets bored.

I love board games, so it would be a pretty good gig.

Jack's gonna die this ep.

It can't be that simple.

People need to get out of this mentality. Not everything in LOST has to be mind numbingly complex. The simplest answer in LOST is usually the correct one.
