There's one thing to question it...Myth is crying like a huge douche. Pretty typical of him though.

The "jacks perspective" theory doesn't really
fit because a lot of the things they do in the alt timeline are things he knows nothing about. He wasn't there when hurley asked Ben to be his number 2. I think Aaron was just left as a baby so they didn't have to bring in someone new, but I agree he shouldn't have really been there. Maybe he died at a young age off the island tho

the bleeding hearts and perennial detractors are pretty fricking annoying

it's either all or nothing for you guys

"IT WAS COMPLETELY AWESOME!!!"

"STOPPED BEING GOOD AFTER EPISODE 3!!!"

I am pleased overall with the series, and last night's finale was one of the better episodes because of all of the sentimental payoffs (the flashbacks that lead to relationship elightenment).

The only hoaky bit was that stained glass window that implied "whatever you believe in will save you in the end!"

I didn't see that as a plane crash. I just figured that was Lapidus et all flying off the island.

I thought the crash site at the end was just kinda showing the original sites of the first season in more of a sentimental way.

winner...again

Yeah, it was all the major religions, right?

Also, I'm still catching up on the thread, but was the church at the end the same one where Eloise was last season?

So did Jack really have a son somewhere in the real world or not?

It's pretty much a 100% fact that they were alive on the island. Christian said it, the last scene on the island was Jack dying, hurley n Ben talkin bout how he made a good number 2. If you are saying they died in the crash then u think they all died twice or what? Just doesn't make sense especially when there were people that died during the crash. That would mean they died twice in the crash?

No

It was part of his "closure" in purgatory. We know that he had daddy issues. Same with Locke - his purgatory involved his dad being in a paralyzed state because of something that HE did. It was just a part of their healing process and a way for them to let go.

This is from another site and basically sums up my view on Lost.

I think I'm going to wind up thinking of Lost as an anthology show, another Twilight Zone or Outer Limits.

It served up some wonderfully weird, allusive stories. It gave us some brilliant mind-benders. There were individual episodes and story arcs that stand out as among the best hours of television ever created.

You just can't think of Lost as one unified story any more, because then you realize it all leads up to this utter flatness. This zone of apathy and new-age "walk into the light" catharsis.

That's a gross conversation to have, especially with Hurley.

Overall I really like this episode and the series as a whole but I do wished they would've done something with Walt. He seemed like such an important character in the first season and then we never heard from him again until Locke tried to get him to come back to the island when he was older.

I don't think anyone thinks Lapidus' plane crashes, you guys have that wrong. We are saying the plane crash at the end is the plane crash from the very first episode, and that alludes to "everyone died on the plane. There was no real island."

that's an excellent perspective.

a lot of the h8rs on this board are searching for a unified ribbon that ties up the series in a 100% satisfactory little package.

that's like trying to find an individual thread that sums up an ensemble piece like The Big Chill, MASH, or Magnolia. It starts out as a central idea that sets everyone off, but eventually the lessons turn more into a minutia of tributaries rather than a central focus

and i think that is wrong. I know they are talking about the Oceanic plane crashing. I dont think that was the Oceanic plane crashing, i think it was the Ajira plane leaving the island. it doesnt look like the Oceanic plane to me and if you go back and watch the clip, you can tell by Jacks reaction that it was a shot of his people getting off the island and him letting go, IMO.
