Watching the finale again.
Jack - They're all dead?
Christian - Everyone dies sometime, Kiddo. Some of them before you, some of them long after you.
I think we can put the idea that they died in the crash to rest.

Some people will never learn.
And hey, I just thought about this. WTF happened to the others? And the flight attendant? Damn no island answering questions MFers.

I assume they continue to live on the Island as the Others

If everyone in purgatory is dead and purgatory is timeless such that every person that ever dies is already there, then doesn't it follow that we are all already dead, we just don't know it yet?

That and Aaron as a baby as Jack remembers him and of course Jack's father explaining everything to him and opening the doors to the light in the final scene in the church.
If it was only Jack's perspective, then why do we see all of the other characters have their own epiphany moments in the alt timeline/purgatory that Jack is not aware of? Shouldn't that not happen?

Also with the shots of the wreckage there are several fresh footprints in the sand.
There is no longer an argument that they died in the crash.

Look, people. I've drank enough of this creek wine to last me 2000 years. Help me get off this island, people. I promise that Smokie is out on a cigarette break and he's a chain smoker, so your window is about 24 hours with that creek wine bottle.

Let's talk about how the Island protector gets to make up the rules for the writers' convenience. That is great writing, people.

Just a question,
If pulling the cork out, caused the magic that had been controlling things to disappear, then why was Smokie still Locke.
Since Richard lost his immortality, shouldn't Locke have reverted back to the MIB.
Sorry if already asked.

I loved the finale, and right now I have a pretty good feeling overall towards Lost.
Until last night, I couldn't wait to rewatch all 6 seasons on blu-ray when they came out.
Now i'm afraid that I will notice too many little things and say "Hey! They never explained that!" or "What the hell was the point of that?"
They don't bother me at all right now, because I can't think of many offhand (dharma food drops being one), but I'm afraid that rewatching the whole series will ruin it for me.
Thoughts?

I've refrained from this thread for various reasons, and havent read a thing past page 8.
The writers really mailed this one in. Just a huge disappointment that left me saying to myself "seriously?" The flash-sideways is the biggest croc of shite I have ever seen written and acted out. They stung us along for the entire season because "they" created this "place" ???
It's unfortunate, because I really think the first 2hours and 10 minutes are some of the best LOST I've seen (short of Jack's Street Fighter pose in the rain).....and then....poof....nothing of substance, no resolution, nothing of substance to hold onto, look back and say...damn, that's pretty fricking cool
Knowing how it all ends, I have gone from excited to doing a re-watch, to I doubt if I'll even make an effort to even try. There is nothing about the way the journey ends that is compelling enough to re-visit any of it.
Sopraons ending > LOST ending

Not sure. I realy wish they would have explained more of what happened after he was transformed, because clearly his physical body was a corpse.
I also am curious why Jack or Desmond weren't turned into smoke or transformed into something since they went down there.
I agree there's a lot out there that I wish could have been answered.
