This thread motivated me for a rewatch. Although not diligently watching and paying attention. Have it on in the background. About halfway through Season 1.
May skip Season 2 since it drug so much with the backstories.

Not answering about Walt is a pretty big deal. They didn’t deserve the hate they got and certainly didn’t need GRRM throwing them under the bus.

Never watched Lost when it was popular. Started and sort of getting bored with it already on episode 8.
Just realized each season has like 20+ episodes. No way I make it. Will prob quit now.
You're going to miss out on one of television's greatest villains.

I feel like that's the beauty of LOST though.
The mysteries are cool but at the end of the day the characters is why I keep going back.
Jacob and MIB are the people I care the least about... Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Sayid, Hurley, Ben, Locke, etc... these are the people I'm invested in, not the Yin Yang twins.

I totally agree but Jacobs story and his eventual demise tugs at your heart which is a huge part of LOST. His "selections" and how and why he picked them is a big part of the lure of the characters. It gives you the feels and made you believe that he needed them.
Mr Eko was one of my favorite characters in the show. He played that part to a T

Yes, that is definitely true. I think the point I was trying to make is how the show is really a character study. We see people who have problems grow and change.
The mysteries just gave the characters something to do in order to face their pasts and who they were.

Currently, through 7 episodes.
Still the GOAT

Still the GOAT

Yes they did. Locke doesn’t bring him back to the island because he “had been through too much.” It’s obvious he had some kind of special powers like projection or telepathy, but his arc basically ends when Michael takes him off the island.
Then the island pulled Michael back via Ben to punish his soul by trapping it there after he died.

I made it through 4 seasons I believe and never picked up again.. wouldn't want to rewatch those seasons tho

20 years ago I watched the pilot on a box TV set and was intrigued. Then I missed the next three or so episodes. Tried to pick it up again around episode 5 but was too confused so I quit and haven't watched a minute since.
So I'm binging it now for the first time. I'm on Season 3 and while it gets wobbly at times, I'm staying the course. I know from friends the payoff is disappointing so I'm just rolling down the windows and enjoying the journey.
It's weird how you can see the DNA of this show embedded in many other episodic dramas that came after. I've also noticed the writers seem to throw stuff back at fans in later episodes - little jokes about Hurley not losing weight, the random other plane survivors never doing anything, etc.

Dang it that Jin and Sun storyline always leaves me bawling my eyes out.

If you recognize it as a show strictly about character development and people becoming better versions of themselves then you won’t be disappointed. If you want grand explanations of the universe, the. You will be upset.

I meant to start a thread on here a couple months back about my 2nd watch/1st watch. The first run, I missed much of the first season and then I missed a lot of episodes in between as I sorta lost interest then didn't want to catch up. My wife had never seen any of it, so we went for it and watched all of it in about 3 months.
I actually enjoyed it more the 2nd time and the end was better than I remembered. I really missed a lot that first time. I was living in Kauai when it first came out and didnt have as much connection, but I remember watching because Hawaii. Now I'm living in Oahu and have been to many locations, so it was the right time to catch it again and it's fun seeing places we've been, many without realizing. That plus using subtitles when you need! My wife got hooked after about the halfway point of the first season. At first it was one or two episodes and we'd go to bed. Soon enough we were watching 4-5 episodes and going to bed late
There's definitely things they didn't answer, but it really didn't bother me nearly as much. I mean, you have to suspend disbelief pretty hard for this show, so who cares about a few weird things unanswered. The show was cosmic among many other things.
One of the things I wanted to post about was how fricking annoying Kate could be. I was too in love with her the first run, but her indecisive, somewhat dumb self was really evident this second run. That and how pompous Jack was. Still loved them overall

Still say she’s the sexiest on the show.

IMNSHO, season 2 was the best season of any series I've seen. It was the first show that ever hooked me and I was a teenager at the time. It was literally the only form of entertainment that distracted me from trying to frick every female in school.
I loved Lost but in retrospect, it went about two seasons too long.

This show put me in a bind my sophomore year at lsu (2010). It was one of the first series to be put on Netflix and my 2 roommates and I were obsessed. We’d wake up every morning with bong bowls and binge like 6 episodes in a row lol. Loved this show.

if you are watching LOST for the first time with this in mind, you should just turn it off and watch some ESPN.
Going into any show with disappointment in your head is just pointless
I can find flaws in any show ever made if I have that mindset

I think Desmonds story and character was one of my favorites. He was so important to the story line though his character doesn't get the credit it deserves.
He was an amazing character and vital to the storyline.

There wer so many hot women on that show. Clair was very hot but I really disliked her character. Just not one of my favorites.
I think Juliette was my favorite female character. She reminds me a lot of my wife (too old for you kids) in a lot of ways. She was also very hot to me.
If I had to pick one girl on the show for hotness, it would probably be Penny. She had the look and everything.
