Does the robot still say "danger Will Robinson" like he did in the original series?
Yes, and eventually a handful of other words but there's never any complex sentence structure. The voice in this remake, however, is far better.

I don’t know. There is something about this show. The drama, suspense, space, and family tones. There needs to be more shows like this. I’m good if this is the last season but would love to go on another journey with the robinsons if it happens.

Looking forward to season three. I really wish there were more shows like this. Drama, suspense, action, romance, but no terrible language, violence, or nudity… nothing truly inappropriate for the kids. I have an 8,10, and 12 year old, and we can all sit down and enjoy it together.

Agreed. Our whole family watches this and enjoys it. There are not a lot of shows like that anymore unfortunately.

Is this show appropriate for an 8 year old that kinda scares easily?
Looking for a show to watch together and this keeps popping up, but wasn’t sure how suspenseful it gets at times.
She did well with The Mandalorian, but scared during The Mitchels Vs the Machines, so

Nope, the machine will be very scary for a 8-year old kid.

It is pretty much continuously suspenseful. They are in life threatening situations about 90% or so of screen time. My youngest was 8 or 9 when it first came out and enjoyed it, but she doesn’t get scared by much of anything she has watched.

It is suspenseful but very PG-PG13 suspense. I think my youngest was 7 when we watched the first season.

This is a fun show.
I hope the robots that replace us aren't such dumbasses.

I was a fan of the original growing up.
I like this one, but Will is the only interesting character along with the Robot. Every original character is far superior to anyone in the new one.
I do not like how they did the robot in this adaptation. No spoilers.
I do not like this Dr. Smith adaptation. No spoilers.
Otherwise, this has a grander scale to it than the original as should be expected with tech and budgets.

quote:People give the original a lot of grief, but it was a fun ride. Irwin Allen was all about creating a great concept, but then doing what he had to when it came to keeping the show on the air. In the case of LiS, he was directly competing with Adam West's Batman, which was a pop culture phenomena. The black and white "serious" sci-fi Lost in Space quickly became a brightly colored parody, with the flamboyant Dr. Smith as the answer to Batman's villain-of-the-week. As a kid watching it in prime-time and then in first run syndication, it was fun as hell.

The first time he said it back in Season 1, I was like "yes!"
SPOILERS:
Not sure why Netflix has a knack for cancelling it's better series after only a handful of seasons, but they wrapped things up nicely. Allowing Smith to redeem herself was a smart decision by the writers. While self-preservation was always her main objective, she eventually warmed to and became fond of the Robinsons, and proved her worth more than once in the final two seasons.

I enjoy it but I hate the wife

They made Maureen an aerospace engineer and the mission commander. She was Dr. Robinson, and John was just a grunt. They did nothing but fight for almost the entire first season, so I had a tough time getting into the show. After they almost died, the family pulled together like in the original ssries, and I enjoyed it a lot more.

She's too bossy

Wrapped it up last night. Really enjoyed it. Wish they had spent a little more time going into the background of the robots and cut a little of the action out. I really enjoyed the Judy Robertson character and actress. She was excellent in the show. Agree with the previous poster in that I did not like the Robertson mom very much. Loved Don the mechanic.

I really enjoyed this series; good character development, story, dialogue and special effects, all without endless F bombs, nudity or homosexual over representation.

They really had an opportunity to do so with the Robertson women. I thought they handled it very well and it didn't seem forced or unbelievable. It really could have gone south when Judy tells her dad to sit-the-frick down when getting off that one planet. But again, they handled it very well.

True, but she does have a great rack.

It's a really well-done show. It's enough of an homage to the original to interest fans of the classic series, but with great visuals and plenty of action for today's audiences. The actor who played Will grew up so much between the end of Season 2 and the beginning of Season 3, while Judy and Penny looked pretty much the same. They wrapped things up well, and the scene where Maureen visits Smith and tells her to come find them was a nice way to end Smith's character arc, although I was sad that she wasn’t with the family in the last scene. The writers did a great job allowing her to redeem herself and show that when they really needed her, Smith came through for the family. I will miss the Robinsons.
