I forgot how enjoyable this 80's movie was. Excellent cast. If done right, it could be a fun sequel or prequel; However, Hollywood would screw this one up.

She was a smoke show in Lost Boys. It took me a few years to realize she was also the fiancee in Twister.

The soundtrack was the best of the best that year.

Always thought they should have made the sequel with care.
Before Haim died.
I would have wanted 90% original cast. Its cannon David didnt die. So, he would have made his escape while the others were distracted with max.
Fast forward 20 years, Michael and star have a kid who is in highschool, Everyone is old and has moved on in life. So much has changed in the area.
Eventually David resurfaces as kieffer Sutherland. Using cgi help to appear as looking the same as in 1986. (Like Brad Pitt in Benjamin button).

The premarital sax man must be 60 by now. No thanks.

Actually, that sounds awesome. Pitch it to the folks at Warner Bros - I'm all in!

I forgot about those. I have not watched either because the trailers and descriptions looked terrible. What you described would have been the perfect approach.

Don't worry baws, The CW is bringing us a new twist on The Lost Boys with their new series featuring The Frog Sisters

I could also see Sam and the Frog brothers owning a comic book store/diet frozen-yogurt bar/headshop-dispensary

Timmy Capello... Also did the sax on Tina Turners Thunderdome song. He's actually a great player with a very distinct sound, but he'll always be famous for the one scene.
In my opinion, that musical sequence in Lost Boys is THE quintessential scene to sum up the 80s on film. It's peak everything -- absurdity, yet fascinatingly great.
I swear the older brother new kid dude in Stranger Things season 2 was a direct homage and near copy of Jason Patrick from this movie.

Love this movie. I have the VHS and the CD soundtrack. Perfect mix of comedy and drama/horror
Wouldn't mind a sequel that ignored the other ones.
Could have Haim's character killed off prior to it by David or someone and Michael is out for revenge

Remember going to Santa Cruz boardwalk at night back in the 90's and it felt like I was in The Lost Boys.
I think Jami Gertz is now a part-owner, with her husband, of the Atlanta Hawks.

One of my favorite movies as well. The comedy parts are superb fits. Jamie Gertz was a smokeshow in that.
One scene where they're racing out of the cave and almost back the car off the cliff and Corey Feldman just let's out a "CHRIST!". Don't know why but that cracks me up every time.
Little tidbit, Richard Donner was suppose to direct the movie and it was going to be about 8-10years old in a world where the vampire was a boy instead of teens.

If you listen very closely - the gutter punks that get taken out by Kiefer and his crew are listening to RUN DMC - definitely intended satire and funny AF for that time period
