It doesn’t follow the lore & activity dumps on Tolkien.
That’s not opinion.
That’s demonstrable. And we’re not just talking skin color either. Characters have been wholly overwritten and appear so wildly out of their original timeline that it renders any connection to the original work as nonexistent.

It’s the opinion of thousands if not millions of fans as well as Tom Shippey, The leading living authority on all things Tolkien.
And when you start talking about updating a timeless classic… That’s not opinion either. That comes straight from the horses mouth. The show runners and adult pretenders a.k.a. actors who think they are exceeding where Tolkien failed.

Tolkien set out to write a book. Which Christopher Tolkien and Guy Gabriel Kay pieces together and in somePlaces finished. He didn’t intent for this book to be one narrative.
That doesn’t mean that book would make a good television show. And that doesn’t mean Tolkien failed. He didn’t set out to write a book that would make a good television show. If he was he would have likely included a ton more dialogue.
If you want to talk about arrogance I’d direct you to your posts where you’re so sure of yourself you continuously act like your opinion is fact.

It's sad this is what the world has come to. people with no satisfaction in their real lives getting their rocks off on trying to prove they are right about a show sucking before it is even released I hope if they are correct it will be the validation they need so badly.
I'm gonna tune in to the premiere and then will decide whether or not I wanna continue watching.
I'm sure even if I fall in love with the show and think it is the best thing since The Wire they will be able to tell me why I'm wrong
