This. Reviews from a bunch of hacks isn't going to change my opinion.

Yeah, I only thought it looked okay from the preview, but the reviews are outstanding...I'll probably try to check it out this weekend.

This is insanely dumb. A commercial.
How about the pedigree behind the film?
Rian Johnson.
Or people that have actually seen it?

yes...looked no different from any of the other shite they throw out there now...it takes a lot more than Bruce Willis for me to go to the theater these days Hell I haven't even seen the new Batman yet.

I wouldnt say shitty, but the previews definitely did not excite me. Very hard to do time travel movies and do them well IMO

What did you do for the film?

Rian Johnson worked heavily with Shane Carruth, director of Primer when completing the script.
If you've seen Primer, that should tell you something.
I have 100% faith its done correctly and interestingly.

brick was pretty good for the budget. I have hope that it will be entertaining. Of course, I had hope for promethus only to have them crushed

When JGL is in it, you know its got to be good. Been awaiting this film for a while.

Would my review change your mind? I tend to have good taste around these parts, to where I wouldn't steer you wrong.

Never seen it, so his record is still flawless.

Cool. Primer was done well. Still based on the previews alone as someone stated though, I wasn't that excited. I will give it a watch when it goes to DVD though.

Looper is a stunning work of scifi action cinema that is as entertaining as it brilliant, as brave as it is meticulously tuned.
quote:
It’s rare that a film demands an instant rewatch both because of its rewarding intricacies and because it’s so damned entertaining, but something about the best scifi action does just that. Looper stands confidently alongside thoughtful, contemporary blockbusters like The Matrix and Inception, while preserving so much of the intimate details of films like Primer and Moon. Rian Johnson has proven himself a worthy studio filmmaker who has vision enough to fill out a large budget and give us bigger ideas to match the bigger films. Looper would be a contender for best film in any year it was released, and this year it stands out from all other blockbuster efforts by a large stretch. It deserves virtually every positive adjective you can throw at it and it is the kind of film with which a message can be sent to the studios that audience are hungry for ideas with their spectacle.
Looper is incredible, and you simply can not miss it.
