Personally I don’t think alot of these are rom-coms. I get that there are romantic components to Forgetting Sarah Marshall or 40 Year-old Virgin, but I think in order to be a true rom-com it has to be balanced between the rom and the com. It sounds absurd but FSM and 40 YOV are disqualified from being rom coms in my mind bc too damn funny.
For me, the ones I’d throw out are as follows:
-Definitely Maybe
-Crazy Stupid Love
-No Strings Attached
-Friends with Benefits
-Two Night Stand
-Five Year Engagement
Idk why the last two aren’t brought up more often. I think they’re all-time rom coms.
