If the Purple Wedding is this season, I will be shocked

Me too, but I like the idea of all 3 weddings in this season. Then, leave all of the Tyrion, Sansa, and Jon stuff for season 4.

Would be perfect.

I almost feel like it HAS to end with the PW. Gotta leave people some hope. Ned dies in 1, people were mad/sad/etc, but then fricking DRAGONS! CAN'T WAIT FOR SEASON 2!

How many of us have said we put the book down (or more accurately threw it across the room) after the RW only to pick it up after a bit and continue reading? Would that have happened the same if SoS ENDED with the RW? That'd have been a long time for that anger to fester for those that read on release

I just went back and read the chapter summaries from SoS. I forgot how close the RW and the PW were. Now I'm thinking season 3 will end with the PW

Tyron's wedding to Sansa is much later in the season than thought. A certain event that was questionable to happen this season will now without question happen in Season 4.

they just need to call it a non-reader thread instead of a no spoiler thread.

Hopefully Carson won't start their thread for them this week.

I see 3 threads in the flames:

Non-Reader Only Thread - For show watchers only, no extraneous comments by anyone with book knowledge.

Middle/Question Thread (I will start it) - For both Readers and Nonreaders to discuss the show, not the books. Nonreaders may ask questions of readers who will, hopefully, provide direct answers to minimize spoilers. No speculation by book readers beyond what has been seen on the show. *Mild Spoilers* will be in this thread and the more sensitive show watchers should not enter this thread.

Reader Thread (aka, mini-crackpot thread)- open to all book spoilers and all forms of speculation.

I have seen in the flames that this will turn into a shitstorm again.

No way in Hell does Joffrey live at the end of this season if the writers care about ratings.

The Aliens that created Valyria land in their spaceships and destroy everyone. How did you miss that in SoS.

I'll be in the middle and book threads with the other cool kids. Let the more paranoid and most spoiler-adverse watchers have their own thread. This is an attempt to lessen the ferocity of the shitstorm, but as is the motto of House TD: The Shitstorm is Coming.

**********Spoilers, non readers shouldn't be in here anyway*************

I'm sure he is referring to the Red Wedding.

Pretty sure that all three will be this season.

quote:

It appears that filming is well under way for the Red Wedding, the biggest event in A Storm of Swords and one of the most defining moments in the A Song of Ice and Fire series. What sealed the deal in confirming that this was the RW being filmed? According to McDoodils:

What confirmed the “Red Wedding” for me was Mr Higgins revealing that [Imagine the Irish accent] “A massacre took place last night” and “major characters got their heads removed and sewed onto an ox.” I will admit I did laugh out loud at this point, obviously I explained what I thought it was.

LINK

quote:

…it was still fantastic to see the Frey’s men battle it out with the Northmen. Before coming I had been told that there was to be gas men on set as thing were going to burn. This was confirmed to me immediately as the set was engulfed with “controlled” fire. The main focus of the scene was a wagon on fire rolling down a dirt road as the battle enraged around it. All the extras I seen were wearing generic gear, apart from one man who seemed to be wearing Lannister attire, the only reason I mention this is because this man has golden hair.

quote:

UPDATE: We’ve learned that the Red Wedding will happen in episode 9 of season 3 and will be directed by David Nutter.

Red Wedding will not be the finale.

So glad they are combining books 4 and 5. Book 4 alone is slow.

im worried people are going to jump ship mid way through season 4. Being introduced to new players 4 years in while characters they grew to love/hate are gone will be too much for most watchers

The players won't be gone too much really, they will be combining books 3,4, and 5 as needed to keep all the major players around, like they are doing with Theon now.
