For me, when Theo touched her dead sister and immediately had the empathic agony, I knew this was going ro be one hell of a series. And I was right. My favorite thing Netflix has ever put out.

This show was like if Lost was a properly done horror mini series that had a perfect build up and payoff. It’s one of the best things that has come out on Netflix in the last 5 years.

Episodes 5 & 6 (bent neck lady and two storms) are two of the best episodes of tv you will find. As someone said, as the show goes on (and especially on rewatch) it becomes less scary and more sad.

I'd agree. I'd throw Episode 9 Screaming Meemies in that same category as those two. But yeah, that sentence encapsulates it perfectly. Starts off being freaky but by the end you're bawling your eyes out.

The Dudleys in particular, for not being in the show THAT much, possibly had me crying the hardest in the end.

I just binged it and I have to say that was one of the most fricked up series I have seen. But it was good. I honestly felt like I was starting to go insane and question my reality.

We watched 3 episodes at time and felt wiped out and terrified after each session. Can’t imagine binging it

It’s a interesting mix of horror and drama. I actually feel drained after watching it.

Episode 9 is probably the most harrowing piece of media I’ve ever watched

I loved all the hidden ghosts in the shots.

Hill House left a lasting impression on me, and I can't think of many other TV shows over the past five or so years that have done that.

It's really high up my list of favorite shows.

Late to the show: Finally watched Haunting of Hill House

Started this last night after having watched The Haunting of Bly Manor earlier in the week.

nice bump

didnt get around to this til a couple of years ago, my kid recommended it after we had watched The Haunting on TCM that Halloween

concur with all the accolades, just a great, emotionally satisfying series throughout - and if i may say so, an excellent example wherein a character’s sexual orientation is handled organically and actually integral to the character rather than the lazy “make one of them gay” tokenism prevalent in Hollywood these days
