Snyder Superman was nihilistic?
I was just being a bit poetic, though one could point to his reaction to the bombing that he was present for could be interpreted as such.
It's more to the point that it's depressing and bleak. Snyder seemed more interested in a Batman who kills, a Superman who's depressed, and a Lex Luthor who was a manic psychopath than a ruthless businessman. I don't see his take any more valid than other directors deciding they need to "deconstruct" heroes of our past, his was just more action-oriented.

Now that the initial anti-woke whining is done...
It looks great. The aged Hal with the young John isn't from any comic series that I'm familiar with, but this show definitely has the vibe of the Hard Travelling Heroes series from Green Lantern/Green Arrow 1970-72.
Hal and his partner driving through America, finding a different odd criminal behavior in each town that they pass through, this made for great comics. In the early 70's this was the kick-off of "relevance" in comics. If you want to complain about wokism, these were stories hitting on racism, pollution, overpopulation, drug use, abuses of the rich, you name it. I don't see any of that social justice narrative in this trailer.
This is more of a veteran cop and rookie narrative. If it turns into a Scooby Doo/X-Files mystery villain of the week, even better.
I'm fine with Gunn's universes NOT featuring a singular vibe. Give us Peacemaker and give us The Penguin. I'm fine with a lighter Superman and a darker Green Lantern. The Snyderverse had its moments and the MCU was great but every movie staying in the series creative lanes just gets old.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. Snyder’s Superman was a Jesus allegory

Didn’t get that Superman was depressed. When he first decides to come forward he explicitly says he stands for hope, his father tells him he can be an inspiration to all mankind, tells him “you can save them kal-el, you can save them all.” You’re calling that nihilistic and depressing compared to cuck boy who’s been sent here to take over the earth and enact prima nocta on the entire planet, who now hates his evil parents, who’s getting his arse whipped in every scene and at 33 years old still has zero confidence or identity?

There a lot of exploding wheelchairs in the Bible?
My points are:
1. He's Superman. He clearly knew something was wrong before the bomb went off. Even a split second is enough time for Superman.
2. Let's say that's not the case. In the aftermath of the explosion, with people bleeding and hurting, does Superman stick around to help? No, he flies off.
That scene told me everything I needed to know about how Snyder interprets Superman.
As for being a Jesus allegory... do you think Jesus would see a bunch of people in pain and just fly off instead of doing everything he can to help?

Sure, but not until they completely obliterate the fact that Clark learns humanity from the Kents, not from Jor-El. Kent tells him it was probably better to let kids die than run the risk of exposing who he is.

I didn't agree with that take on his Kryptonian parents, but the point still stands that it's the Kents, not the House of El, that formed Superman's core identity.

You exaggerate.
And at least he didn't get his arse kicked by an orphan with anger issues.

He doesn’t tell him it would probably be better to let the kids die, he says “I don’t know son”
You don’t agree with what exactly happens in the movie? Well ok I guess

Everyday?

I cannot think of any scenario where Jesus would flee the scene of people in need.

I loved the Neal Adams and Denny O’Neil work on that storyline. Still have the originals.

Gonna guess Hal Jordan doesn't live to see season 2, right?
Got it.
Got it.

Looks decent. I recognized Stewart’s actor from Rebel Ridge. He was great in that and will give it a chance.

Similar to how Disney Star Wars ran to defend their SB ad.
Awesome.
Awesome.

darker Green Lantern
If any JLA character works for a darker vibe (aside from Batman, of course), it's Green Lantern - they're basically space cops. They're going to see some crazy shite.
