I'm still pissed at Rian Johnson for derailing the new Star Wars trilogy, so I'm annoyed at how much I liked this film. It's very very good, and free for Amazon Prime members. I don't like admitting it, but everyone should watch it. Ana De Armas, Chris Evans and Daniel Craig are fantastic.

it definitely makes Last Jedi look like an outlier in his career.

directed the best Breaking Bad episode imo (and the worst, imo), Looper, and Knives Out.

I'm up and down on the works I've seen from him. Ozymandias and Knives Out are great. I hate TLJ, and didn't love Looper. I didn't dislike Looper, I just don't like when time travel movies leave paradoxes, and Looper's plot left a particularly annoying paradox that bugged me as soon as credits rolled.

Edit: Before someone says there's always gonna be a paradox in a time travel story, I'll say go watch Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. No paradox. It's done perfectly.

Do you have any examples that are actually time travel stories, not one that introduces it in the third act for a few minutes to act as a deus ex machina?

Thought it was very predictable. Didn’t care for it. And James Bond accent was irritating as shite.

While not a bad movie, it certainly wasn't great for the reasons you posted here. It was very ho hum

I gave it 3.5 out of 5. The set was amazing. I liked the performers. Plot was easy to figure out and I was expected some major twist I didn't see coming. But it just ended exactly like I thought it would.

The cast is very good and given what Hollywood is churning out now I enjoyed it. But I agree with the predictability. It's somewhat fun but nothing special.

I agree it wasn't a bad movie, but it was supposed to be a mystery whodunit movie, and the ending was incredibly obvious. I'm not entertained if i can easily figure it out so that is the reason it wasn't great.

Had no idea. That’s insane. We both agree on the worst episode too. The fly is like a weird psychological piece, but gone horribly wrong where it became incredibly boring and pointless

Rian Johnson did a decent job directing, and the stars were good, but he did a terrible job writing the story. That comedy from the 70's Murder by Death had a more interesting mystery in it.

Same. I thought the movie sucked and was very boring. Daniel Craig’s southern accent being the worst of all time didn’t help either
