Rip Torn as Artie on The Larry Sanders Show was one of the GOAT supporting actors. He was also a notorious alcoholic. Here's Pollak telling a story about Rip Torn during the filming of the 1995 comedy Canadian Bacon.

Here's an interesting story about Rip Torn, the time he got in a fistfght with Norman Mailer during the filming of Mailer's shitty art film.

Torn was nuts. He tried to kill Norman Mailer on the set of Maidenstone.

ETA: awesome comment from that video:
The fight was later used as evidence in his case against Dennis Hopper, who claimed Rip attacked him with a knife after being replaced by Jack Nicholson in Easy Rider. Rip won his case on the claim that "he could not have possibly killed Hopper as he was, at the time, on the set of Maidstone trying to kill Norman Mailer."
