Anyone watch yet? I thought it was very well done by the film maker who was a kid in (his family evacuated but has lots that stayed behind) NO during Katrina.

I was shocked to learn from this that only black people were affected by Katrina.

So you didn't see 100% of the news coverage when it happened? Mary Landrieu and Kathleen Blank-o were the only two white people in Louisiana in 2005.

I was being incredibly sarcastic. I have no idea what your reply means because I’m drinking wine.
As someone whose family was directly impacted by Katrina, and white (*gasp*), frick that stupid racist fake documentary.

It was a celebration of victim mentality on steroids.
Look, there is good reason to recall the true hardships of Katrina, and yes, those children who went through the worst of the post-storm aftermath have special concerns that could be addressed.
But the show doubles down on victimhood by blaming all of the social ills of these kids on the feelings of being unsafe rooted in the Katrina experience.
Fatherlessness, poor parenting overall, glorification of narcissism, entrenched victim ideologies (such as “prison pipeline” and “nobody cares about us because we’re black”) are ignored as causes of their condition.
