Lots of popular songs from this one soundtrack, but one in particular achieved what is being called a killshot, topping every (Korean, I’m guessing) chart simultaneously. Must be a pretty big deal because they said it’s never happened before.

First soundtrack to ever have four songs in the Billboard top 10 at the same time.

“Unprecedented” is a term tossed around a lot these days…
I knew people were talking about it having been the first time ever such a thing happened. Not one who follows K-pop though, I figured it was impressive enough.

My daughter and niece watched it on vacation multiple times. I wanted to blow my fricking brains out. I’m not the target demographic though. I had to ban the songs I the car
I HATE the jumpy Spider-Man Into the spider verse animation style. It is mind boggling to me how people enjoy that choppy crap

It’s different and new so that makes it better. Plus, it has the advantage of being more interesting to watch in those damn ‘bean mouth’ animated shows. Freaking low effort.

It must be a phenomenon based on how long it’s been 1 or 2 in the Netflix top 10. It just lingers.

What fascinates me is the world building which is Korean based yet is so effectively explained to those who have no knowledge about the culture or history. Nothing is overexplained or forced for the casual viewer, but those who are familiar with Korea will find there are layers upon layers. This wasn't just slapped together in a few months by a bunch of posers or entitled brats who didn't know what they were doing. The whole project, from story, animation, character building and of course music is just incredible.

My soon to be 5 year son somehow learned all the dance moves to this movie.

Still number 2. This has to be the biggest movie of all time for Netflix.

A movie that generates so much side content, fan theories, art and cosplaying enthusiasm is a measure of its impact and popularity. Nothing like this has been generated by anything Disney has put out in possibly decades. Or even ever.
There's an endless rabbit hole of fan vids and new reveals by those who keep finding more and more details. From the backstory to each of the 3 members of Huntrix to the Korean lore, the symbolism, it's an endless onion of more and more stuff folks are finding by going through it frame by frame.
They've really set the bar insanely high for anything that follows.

Going to the singalong at AMC on Saturday. The whole weekend is almost sold out which is crazy considering when the movie first came out.

Wow, they're doing this again? I hadn't heard.
Kudos to Netflix for not sitting on this one.
