Yeah, I said it. I didn't think it was possible, but this movie has ended this series for me.

The original Jurassic Park was a legitimately great movie. It had enough to think about, and it brought to life actually seeing dinosaurs like all of us fantasized about when we were kids. It is one of those iconic movie magic films, kind of like The Wizard of Oz.
The first of this reboot, Jurassic World, was pretty stupid. The franchise has just become brainless action monster movies. I can enjoy that too, but it's just a different frame of mind. If you think about it, it's probably the only place that the franchise can go. After the original, I'm not sure how many fresh ideas there are without it devolving into being stupid. The original novelty has already been spent. I'll check out this Fallen Kingdom eventually, but my expectations are pretty low. As long as I get some fun action I'll be satisfied.

I think the movie suffered from having a bad director. Maybe the dude was good in other movies but he was kind of all over the place in this one. Jurassic Park is just becoming the American Godzilla franchise imo.

And the sad part is that sequence was far less stupid than Alan being able to use 3D printed raptor vocal cords to speak raptor on his first tries.
