i thought 'gravity' was visually stunning, and i had no regrets after watching it. that said, if there's ever a movie epitomizing "one and done", 'gravity' might be it....

Its story was its biggest weakness.

Well yeah no disagreement here. I just said that it was competent. It had basic story telling structure. It had a narrative. There was some character development. All character motivations save for one made sense. Now was that story standard, cliche fare? No doubt. But the basic elements of the story weren't the point. The where and who were.

yeah it's a purely visual movie. it's worthless outside of a theater in 3D

That's a neat opinion. I've watched it multiple times and liked it.

Watched it last night. Fantastic visuals and tension. Dialogue was weak. Thought Clooney was great even as a force ghost.

Bump

Rented this tonight on AppleTV. Made it through 30 minutes. One of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.

fricking Clooney asking Bullock where she’s from while they float through space. Oh, you didn’t know that after years of training together to be astronauts?

Terrible fricking movie. Yeah, I’m mad! End melt.

The part that drove me crazy was Clooney's death scene. What was continuing to pull him away since there's no gravity? Once the initial motion was stopped on the cord Clooney would've just floated where he was. Instead he was being pulled away and so Bullock had to release the cord to save herself.

She wasn't an astronaut, was she? I thought she was some pencil-pusher that was up there as an aberration. But yeah, that movie sucked terribly.

I don't get the hate

It's visually very good, decently made and a unique storyline

It's not on any of my favorites list, but I much prefer it to yet another comic book movie or some remake

NB4 is has to be seen in 3-D on big screen to appreciate the genius.

I wouldn’t call that a good movie then

best part was her climbing out of the water.

Is it though? I thought it looked clunky.

This is a quality bump.

I saw Gravity once, at the theater. Visually it was awesome. Made space scary with all it’s emptiness and silence.

I think that’s all there is to the movie.

Might as well just put a picture of earth on the big screen and turn off all the lights in the theatre. Tell everyone to be quiet too.
