There's a high def trailer that looks pretty good.

The mystery that surrounds the Mayan calander and the date December 21, 1012 should have aspired somebody to make a more original film. The trailer makes it look like every other end-of-the-world flick that has come out of Hollywood in the past 10 years or so. I will pass.

I don't think the effects look bad at all except for the stupid plane taking off just in time to avoid destruction.
