Really was a great movie. Didn't the kid from Animal House win or get nominated for his role?

The actor who portrayed Salieri won the Oscar for that performance. It’s an absolutely brilliant film. Not like a lot of the trash produced today

Absolutely a brilliantly executed and acted script. Just phenomenal. Glad you brought it up OP. Love that movie.

Even the soundtrack was wonderful, I can close my eyes and picture almost every scene each song plays.

I put it up there with the movie Immortal Beloved. Same with this one every time and man all the feels

Best part of the movie for me is when Sallieri looks at the crucifix on the wall, and thankfully says "Grazie Signore" bc he believes he had divine intervention in composing a new piece of music to honor Amadeus' visit.

Then after Amadeus basically humiliates Sallieri by rewriting the piece into a far better piece, Sallieri gets home, looks at the crucifix on the wall, & with a most pissed-off look, he sarcastically says, "Grazie Signore".

Here it is:

Tom Hulce's comedic timing is brilliant. And I love that dimwitted court kapellmeister in the background who likes Mozart.

I remember being uninterested in watching the movie because of the subject material at my age. I was 12 I think but wow it was fantastic. Seeing those titties sure didn't hurt.

Truly a great film, but man is it ever a downer.

Not exactly the "feel-good film of the year"

Have never seen it, but after enjoying F. Murray Abraham in Homeland I keep telling myself I need to watch Amadeus one day soon.

That one scene where he rewrites the music and shows his true genius is genius.

I never understood where Hulce went. I liked him in Dominick and Eugene. Heck, he went partial retard so he should have been nominated for that one, but he wasn't.

he made a movie with Adam Ant that I remember liking. then nothing. Or at least nothing I saw. Sure he must have done something.
