Yeah they paid homage to him getting shot in the foot in an episode of sopranos when he shoots the guy at the bakery in the foot.

I love how the whole point of Sopranos is that its a generation of mob guys who were raised on fiction mob movies and now have become fictionalized versions of the real thing.
And all these movies they reference are filled with the people that are in this show.
Them talking about Goodfellas at the dinner table....with the literal Karen.

Funny story about the scene where Spider gets shot.
Imperioli falls back against the bar when he's shot, and actually cuts his hand on a broken glass. They finish the scene and Scorsese is like "holy shite, get this kid to the hospital. He's bleeding all over the place".
So they drag Imperioli to the ER. The staff comes hauling arse out to the waiting room. Crash cart and everything. The crew with him says "all this commotion for a cut hand?". Then they realize that Imperioli is covered with fake blood from the squibs he was wearing from the scene, and the staff thought he had actually been shot.
