Finally decided to watch it and finished all 6 seasons in 3 weeks. God damn that was an excellent show. One of the rare times if not the only time the final season was the absolute best and they nailed the finale.

Yep. One of the great final seasons and finales.

I agree with everything you posted. Top 5 TV drama all time for me.

Good final, but I thought Stan was cheated. He should have had a interrogation with Phillip. They way it went down was a beat cheap. Also, it would have been nice to see something of the son’s reaction to all of it.

Great finale, the Dire Straights and U2 songs worked great.

Yeah I agree that would have made an interesting scene but it would of not allowed them to escape, which i think was important to stans character. Just about every season you see this sensitive human side of stan and he tries to help others. This time he had the chance to actually do so and the fact it was for phillip, who he genuinely cared about, made it that much sweeter. And when phillip finally confesses and says "we had a job to do" you can see stans face change to almost some sort of understanding

The parking garage scene where everything comes out is as good as it gets for tv. Just incredible.

I need to finish up. I think I'm on the last season

One of the best shows ever which was critically acclaimed but never found the audience it deserved. Love seeing Kimmie as Ruth in Ozark.
SPOILER:
One thing that always bothered me was that they never continued the storyline of who killed Frank Gaad.

It wasn't intentional.
It appeared that Arkady had tried to arrange for an approach while Gaad and his wife were overseas and shite went sideways and he ended up dead at the hands of the go-betweens.

Thanks for clearing that up. Maybe I knew that at the time and had forgotten. Man, I miss that show. Incredible writing and acting all around.

Philip Jennings is an all time great character. Love The Americans

Philip "Mischa" Jennings and Elizabeth "Nadezhda" Jennings separated and eventually divorced two years after returning to the Soviet Union. Both provided intelligence on the United States to the KGB, also while working staff jobs until the collapse of the USSR in 1991. Philip embraced the new wave of capitalism, opening a business to promote tourism to Russia. He remarried but had no more children. Elizabeth did not adjust well to life in the new Russia. She became an bitter alcoholic and was killed in a drunken fall down some stairs in her apartment building in 1994.
Paige Jennings was taken into custody and questioned about her role in spying with her parents. It was later determined that she was pressured and influenced into it by her parents, and released on probation. She moved to the west coast, attended college, and went into social work in Oregon. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, she made several trips to visit her father in Russia and other places in Europe. Henry Jennings never forgave his parents, and enlisted in the Army at age 18. He was a veteran of the First Gulf War. He retired out of the military after twenty years and used the G.I. Bill to obtain a degree in computer engineering. He saw his father only one more time, while stationed in Germany.
Stan Beeman resigned from the FBI several months after the Jennings' left the United States. He held a number of jobs over the next few years before becoming a consultant for a private security firm.
Chris Amador rose through the ranks of the FBI, eventually becoming its director from 2005-2010. In 2017, Amador was appointed to lead a special counsel to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election.

Something that stuck out to me over the course of the whole series was how well they seemed to integrate music into the scenes.

I'm at the end of season 1. It's really excellent and I can't believe I never watched until now.
