Why didn't Werner Ziegler fight back?

Mike basically tells Werner he's going to kill him. It was just him and Mike in the middle of nowhere. Why did Werner just accept letting Mike shoot him in the head?

Why would he not at least try to beat Mike's old arse, take his car and drive himself to the airport?

He knew he fricked up and had no way out. He respected mike enough to make it as easy on Mike as possible

He didn't want his wife being dragged into that mess. If he ran the easiest way to find him would be to go to his wife.

You are neglecting that mike also told werner people were going to be after his wife/family. Werner would be killing his wife if he tried anything and he knew it.

There is no respect for someone trying to kill you.

Wasn't she "safe" at the airport and flying back to Germany?

If he runs she is never safe again no matter where she's at.

I think I'd risk it rather than just take a bunch of drug-dealing murderers word for it.

Might want to take the spoiler out of your subject title.

Because they'd already wasted so much screen time on Mike and Werner's relationship that there had to be one last scene of them understanding each other.

Did you miss the part where Werner was a homosexual?

Pretty sure Werner knew Gus and his crew weren’t your typical idiot drug dealing murderers

Exactly. Gus is a business man. Werner's death concluded their business. No need to bother the wife since she didn't know anything.

Had Werner ran and hid,Gus's guys first stop would have been wherever his wife was.

Bottom line: Werner fricked up and realized his choice was die and end it, or run and put his wife in danger.

He chose to die right there and ensure the safety of his wife.
