You're certainly entitled to your opinion. What do you think was the social justice message of the film? Was it that vampires don't like garlic or that you need to invite them into your home?

Probably the stupid Klan ending.

Is killing the Klan an sjw thing?

The klan stuff forced in, but we can ignore it as ripoff Tarantino revenge fantasies, for this conversation.
The whole "white people stealing black people's culture/history" is extremely SJW. So, you know, the main theme of the movie is SJW/woke. That's all

There are obvious similarities to FDTD. But I think the first half of Sinners is way better than FDTD. The vampire parts of both movies are awesome IMO. But Sinners is basically an updated version of FDTD, with a stronger first half.
Extremely similar movies but sinners is much better.
The sinners soundtrack is awesome, and I don't even like jazz or Irish music

All the music in the movie was excellent, as it should be with a crossroads/juke joint/Irish jig sort of soundtrack mashup.

look, the movie was decent enough. cinematography and music were spot on, and the acting was good. the vampires were pretty fricking stupid and sucked at being vampires, but that aside, it was a fun watch.
here's my gauge of these kinds of movies as it pertains to racial and SJW messaging - "does this movie further the racial divide in this country?" and if the answer to that question is yes, then i immediately follow up with the question "does it seem like this movie is doing so deliberately?" the answer to both of those questions with Sinners is unequivocally yes. i mean aside from the entire movie, the KKK scene at the end was basically SJW porn - black people mowing down white people with machine guns.
as far as the SJW messaging? i mean it's pretty on the nose - white people are vampires and will literally and metaphorically suck the life from black people and black culture.

When you say "these kinds of movies" what are you referring to? This was the first Mississippi Delta, blues crossroads, Depression era vampire flick I've ever seen. What other movies have you seen like this one?
How does this movie deliberately further the racial divide? If the KKK machine gun scene at the end bothered you, what did you think about Django and Inglorious Bastards? Those two films are racial revenge porn on a scale way beyond this vampire flick and people here love them.
Didn't all the vampires, white and black, die except the interracial couple at the end? Is that an sjw message?

Is the concept of cultural appropriation of minorities by white people woke/SJW?
Because that's the backbone and theme of this movie.

the KKK scene at the end didnt "bother" me. i just think that scene and a lot of the rest of the movie, intentionally threw gasoline on an already burning fire of racial divide. i think Django more or less did the same thing (although 2012 was different than now)
look man, i understand that you like the movie. i'm not trying to persuade you to agree with me. i'm just giving my opinion.

and SFP agreeing the same side as me on some of this is proof positive that he is just a contrarian who argues against the majority opinion of whichever board he is posting on
