In Season 2, Wyoming Game Warden Joe Pickett (Michael Dorman) discovers a hunter murdered in the mountains and realizes his is just one of a series of gruesome murders. To solve the case and catch the killer, Joe must navigate a radical anti-hunting activist, a ghoulish set of twins living off the grid, and his own tortured past. Joe and his wife, Marybeth (Julianna Guill), discover that the murdered men weren’t as innocent as they seemed, but when they dig too deep, they are forced to go on the run and fight for their very lives.

It’s like a poor man’s version of Longmire with a little hint of Justified. Either way it’s a solid show that’s worth watching.

Man, the only thing that is keeping me from being super annoyed by all the bad decisions Picket makes is the shows awareness to have other characters tell him he is being a complete dumbass.

Question about the last episode of season 1. If you haven’t seen it, don’t read any further.
So, when the bad game warden was after the little girl, he set the woodpile on fire. Then, she set fire to the shed and he tried to put it out. Why did he care about that fire? TIA

Do the books make hunters look so bad and wimpy like the show does especially in season 2?
Activists attack hunters at a ceremony, and hunters run scared & screaming like little girls. Winner scared shitless and hiding out in his house.
The daughter defended hunting in at least one episode, but they make the ones that are actually hunting look like dipshits most of the time.
Also, Joe always does some stupid crap. Is that in the books?

This, and no one is ever arrested for it. That's about the only part that always gets me.
It's like Roscoe always chasing the Duke boys and wrecking his car when he could just go to the farm and wait for them to come home before arresting them for evading police.
I like the show though. Enjoyable watch.
