Exactly. I don't understand how people could think Star Wars being in the hands of Disney could have been anything but a good thing. It's extremely rare for them to miss. Especially with a franchise of this magnitude. They know the revenue from merchandise and spin offs within the universe is way too much to miss out on by coming out with a bad trilogy.

Although I enjoyed VII, let's not act like it was great or perfect. It simply wasn't as bad as Luas.

Very good very safe. Sets the franchise back on solid footing and can take chances with the next two. Just what was needed. Disney knows their shite.

Actually, let's act like it was great, because that's what it was. It was everything it needed to be to reestablish the franchise and build trust back with the fans. It was pretty much perfect in that regard, even if it had some flaws.

Negative. Take a look at what episodes 1-3 did at the box office in the 2000s.
The Phantom Menace made over 1 billion at the box office. The galactically annoying Jar Jar sold an astronomically high amount of "action figures".

you and BB are really getting tiresome. You didn't like it, that's cool and you laid out your beefs, great. Why do you feel the need to crap on people that did like? It's just an opinion, WGAF if someone thinks it is "Dude like greatest thing ever", or just simply enjoyed the movie. that harms no one.

I liked it. I just think it's being vastly overstated how much Abrams had to do with it. I think any of the top 15 living directors could have achieved just as much or more. There was nothing special about the script at all. And the visuals - well, those are going to be A+ top grade no matter the script.

Being charitable, I would credit Abrams with maybe 15-20% of the difference over-and-above what a Lucas-led sequel would have made anyway. i.e. important but not earth-shattering
