I saw this article on Fox News calling for Mike Richards to be named full time host of Jeopardy.

While we've only got two shows to judge by, I like the idea and I like what I've seen. I've been watching/taping/DVRing Jeopardy since the 80's and I'm a huge fan. I wasn't a big fan of Ken Jennings performance as host but I've liked Mike Richards' performance.

I would like to see a few more episodes but if he keeps up what he's done in the first two shows, I hope he gets the permanent gig.

I definitely do not want some far-left whackjob DNC propaganda hags like Katie Couric or Savannah Guthrie to get the gig. THAT would make me stop watching the show after all of these years.

Richards is much better than Jennings. The one thing I am tired of, and all of the upcoming celebrity hosts are going to do it, is the deification of Alex Trebek at the beginning of every show. We get it, Alex was beloved, now stop it.

Yeah. Considering some of the garbage they have lined up for future guest host, Id be fine with this.

As a former contestant who had the honor of meeting Mr. Trebek, I must disagree.

1. Deification is a strong word. "Honoring" him is a better term.

2. I don't see any Deification at the beginning of the show -- all they do during the opening is show some montages at the beginning (with both Trebek AND past contestants). Then there is the black screen at the end, with the written tribute. Ken signed off with a simple "Thank you for watching, and thank you, Alex". I will agree that the producer's sign-off tribute to Alex (about making a better world) is far too long, but it will only be for his term. I hope any Trebek-related sign-off by the remainder of the guest hosts is more like Jennings'.

3. The revered, beloved host died IN THE MIDDLE OF A SEASON.

4. He was host for 36 YEARS.

Let that sink in: 36 YEARS.

You know how long the venerable Walter Cronkite, the "most trusted man in America", was on the CBS Evening News? 19 years. Johnny Carson, a staple of late night, was only on for 30 years. The man was an INSTITUTION.

Many (if not most) of the recent contestants weren't even born yet when Trebek began doing the show.

So cut the man and the show some slack.

I still think that Richards stacked the deck by scheduling other hosts who weren't up to the task or had other commitments that would keep them from taking the gig.

He'll come out as the only viable option.

Who would you like to see as a guest host?

I didn't say anything negative about Alex. But I think he was the kind of man that wouldn't want a big deal made out of his passing on every show for months.

I thought he did a good job. As others have said, an improvement over Jennings.

You think Katie Couric and Savannah Guthrie are far-left?

I couldn’t possibly care less who gets the full-time job, but the difference between him and Ken Jennings really is negligible. Ken Jennings was kind of cold but personable. This guy sounds like if Siri was a person

Ben Mankiewicz.

But if Savannah Guthrie is seen as a leftist, then Makiewicz must be Chairman Mao.
