100%. They are both elite themes and fit their respective versions of Superman, but Flight feels more like a journey to me and when it takes place in its story is perfect to me. Clark/Kal embracing who he is and what he can be and the joy and excitement of him discovering his abilities in Man of Steel is great. Honestly was the best part of that whole movie IMO.

Krypto arrives on screens in Superman this summer. Krypto was inspired by our dog Ozu, who we adopted shortly after I started writing Superman. Ozu, who came from a hoarding situation in a backyard with 60 other dogs & never knew human beings, was problematic to say the least. He immediately came in & destroyed our home, our shoes, our furniture - he even ate my laptop. It took a long time before he would even let us touch him. I remember thinking, “Gosh, how difficult would life be if Ozu had superpowers?” - and thus Krypto came into the script & changed the shape of the story as Ozu was changing my life. What better time to debut the not-so-good-good-boy Krypto than #AdoptAShelterDog month. Btw, Ozu today, is, fairly often, a very good boy. #Superman

I really don't know how Gunn is going to pull off tone here with a superdog and a bunch of other stuff going on

It’s encouraging, in a sense. At least we know it won’t be overly dark or dour, which a Superman movie shouldn’t be. Give me lots of bright colors and a fair bit of humor.

Same, just don't devolve into camp.
A slightly more serious GotG tone would work.
Superman should be bright colors and optimism

The idea of Krypto is silly and irresponsible.
And after growing up with a dog while reading Silver Age Superboy stories, that image put a lump in my throat. It's taken from that All-Star Superman panel shown, which also moved me instantly. It humanizes Superman without depowering him or lessening him in the least bit. It returns Superman to being a comic book superhero.

I don’t even care anymore. WB is just bad at super hero movies. I hope it bombs and WB goes out of business and marvel buys the rights to DC….. I remember Superman Returns had so much hype and was literally one the biggest letdowns in cinematic history. … wash, rinse, repeat WB…..
Gunn won’t be able to hide if this is a complete and utter failure.

Matt Reeves' Batman was great, The Penguin is absolute phenomenal...
I know those aren't related to Gunn's universe but those are good starts.
I trust the hell out of Gunn to pull this off

For those saying Gunn has shown an ability to work with an ensemble cast, he didn’t do that to restart an entire cinematic universe.
Also, he didn’t do it with iconic characters. He did it with a bunch of side characters that were not that widely know to the public. There is a huge difference here, and I have a bad feeling he’s going to frick it up by taking a Guardians approach here.
If people were upset with not getting a second standalone Superman movie before Batman vs Superman and Justice League, this is going to be worse.
Maybe he pulls it off but those claiming his previous ensemble cast success need to recognize the differences here.
