Don't assume that, though.
He is probably giving an anodyne statement during a movie promo.
Assigning extra meaning to get indignant is the path to the Nerdro----err, Darkside

Superman is not a third world immigrant though he came from a society even more advanced than our own.

He said immigrant. You're literally making up a reason to get mad.
Superman came to America and set up as a permanent resident. He is an immigrant regardless of your feelings about James Gunn.
Pretty sure James Gunn knows enough Superman history to know he isnt an illegal so it would be dumb to assume thats what he meant.

I have never ever thought about Superman as an immigrant. Wow.
John Byrne took over the character and attempted to do away with that and have Superman "born" on American soil after his ship landed here. With the recent reinterpretations of the Fourteenth Amendment, that would no longer necessarily make him a U.S. citizen. But then Byrne fricked everything up when it came to Superman.

Third World is another phrase that people forgot the meaning
First World- Democracy
Second World- Communism
Third World- Literally everything else
Now it's just used for "poor country"

No he didn't. He was sent to earth by his parents to escape an exploding planet. He happened to land in Kansas. Superman had no say in the matter. If anything, by virtue of escaping a natural disaster, he's an immigrant, is he not?

Superman was abandoned in America, and adopted by 2 US citizens.
He is not an illegal immigrant, he is a legal US citizen by virtue of legal adoption

Lol so you agree with me that he's an immigrant.
And you agree with me that he came to America and set up permanent residence.
I didnt say he decided to come to America.

He's a legal American citizen by virtue of being adopted by two American citizens.

Pretty sure Gunn and all the other leftists are using Superman as a shield to try to void criticism and opposition to unfettered illegal immigration.
How about this as a Superman talking point? "Kal El came to this country, immediately assimilated himself by learning the language, customs and traditions of America - even proudly adopting the name, Clark Kent. He not only didn't become a drain on American society by getting a job, he selflessly went about doing what he could to protect and better the United States." Nah, the Ivy League educated, vapid white women and "above the fray!" moderates on here would never go for it.

Yeah even if their original adoption was fraudulant he is still legal unless someone went through the legal process to void/nullify his adoption.
