The cussing and shootouts and blood were the only three things preventing The Untouchables from feeling like a Disney movie
???
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

It's an above Ok movie, especially for a couple of absolutely iconic scenes, but not De Palma's best work

Everyone needs to watch Carlito's Way

ETA: no one asked but De Palma's best directorial performance was the first Mission Impossible movie

The scenes at the police academy and the train station stair rail are really good. I loved how the one who fumbled through why he wanted a policeman and Connery says there goes the next Chief of Police.

The Untouchables had a couple of very well-
directed scenes that were worth watching, but overall it was a disappointment.
And switching the juries made no sense. The 2nd jury would have only heard part of the evidence.
