Mother fricking this.

Hell I wrote a final paper over 20 pages long on the philosophical ideals of 3 characters (don't want to name them for spoilers), how they were opposed, how they were alike, and how they related to philosophical topics we had covered in class.
There is a lot to the show if you look. The names of many of the characters should have been a clue to many that there is more to it than just the surface.

I wouldn't bother. Kind of wish i had all those hours back.
Also, I guarantee there are better shows worth watching that you haven't seen yet. Don't waste your time on Lost.

What?!?

I guarantee you that there has never been a show more discussed than Lost. It was a cultural phenomenon and was an excellent show. Just because it didn't give you the ending you wanted doesn't make it a bad show.

Personally, the ending was so great to me that it made me forgive some of the wandering of the middle seasons.

A thousand times yes. I started watching it from the beginning while Season 5 was airing and was instantly hooked. The character development is what I think really sets it apart because throughout the series you slowly get to learn each and every one of them more and more.

It does get considerably different in the middle seasons but the last season ties it all together well I thought.

Lost is one of my 3 or so favorite shows ever and one of the ones I most recommend

Agreed. Except for maybe the 3rd or 4th season, the last one is my favorite. It took a couple times of watching it for me too fully appreciate it, but damn it was good.

Yep, loved the end. Think the final episode may have been my favorite. The final 20 minutes were just gut wrenching and incredible.

I have to go with the first still narrowly being better than the final season. Its just discovering these characters for the first time and the revelations behind them was just so amazing. You think you have one character pegged, and they do a complete U-turn in their backstory. The other seasons couldn't really do that due to how established the characters were from the first season.
