Haven't seen the original but noticed it had good reviews.

Yeah, it's a well made movie. I enjoyed it. More creepy than scary. Don't think it relied on the whole jump scare thing.

Yes. I just rewatched it and appreciated it more this time.

It isn’t the book, but it did it’s job. It’s a good movie

The new one? No. Not only no, but frick no. By far the worst movie of 2017. If you're smart, don't waste your time with this stupid stupid movie. Was an absolute insult to the original. Pile of trash.

Good movie in general, not just by horror movie standards. Some jump scares but the movie itself is mostly unsettling. Definitely worth a watch.

The original was never a movie but a miniseries.

The second half flat out sucked.

The book's climax was an underage gang bang.
So in my opinion, this is the best version of the story.

I’ve never understood why King didn’t get more shite for that.

He wrote a good story that devolved and ended up in a blatant pederast fantasy.

Back when this remake came out last year I read a quote where King said something about thinking that it's funny that people had such an issue with the underage sex, but they were seemingly fine with the murder of children in the book.

I never understood why people were upset with that part of the book. It's not like one of them was some 30 year old creeper dude. Teenagers have sex with each other. Most of us did it as teenagers. It's just a fact of life.
