If you said it was the worst movie of all time, I wouldn't disagree with you. It's that bad a movie.

It’s in my top 5 worst movie list. I hated every second of it and wanted to leave the theater but my wife made me stay.

What's the difference between a legit bull whip and a regular one?

Both can crack?

It’s not the worst ever. If you think that you’ve never seen Plan 9 or The Room.

It’s bad though.

Not just the writing and acting but the special effects - which, with that budget and Spielberg, were shockingly amateur and reminiscent of late 90’s Sci-Fi channel level quality.

I’d really like to know why Spielberg of all people forwent practical effects and how the CG effects he did use ended up being THAT bad. Surely there’s a story behind why they appearently hired complete hacks to do the CG and why they didn’t fire them and hire someone else or shoot with practical effects once they saw how bad their work was. And how did Spielberg not notice or care that the lighting was terrible? Was it just a total money grab and he had no pride left at that point?

Agreed. The storyline and over the top scenes are very typical of the Indy world. Not sure how someone has an issue with a fridge surviving a nuke blast, but okay with face melting mystic spirits or ripping out hearts that continue to beat and so on.

I think we have changed. If Temple of Doom came out today, it’d be hated too.

But Crystal Skull was awful. I can get past the fridge nuke. The monkeys though.

The nuking the fridge moment, while dumb, didn't bother me like it did most. Neither did Shia. I just hated the cartoon backgrounds, the monkeys, the "triple" agent", CGI ants, and the sword battle between moving vehicles. Could have used Sula and Short-Round too.

Was that why the film had such a green tint to it?

Yea, Short Round could have also been great as the traitor.

Indy "Kid how could ya do this?"

Short Round "You mean to say you thought leaving me off in Singapore by myself so you could bang Winnie after you acted like a father figure was never going to come back and bite you in the arse?"

It could have also played into the Indy being a shite father theme they had going with Shia. That could have been the motivation for him to not frick it up this time.
