They have been advertising it way too much.

That story has a lot you could do with it but network tv makes me think it'll be terrible.

The rights issue on that show is a complete mess. Can’t use Hanibal I believe

Oscar award winning movie about a serial killer spinoff on network television..

No.

Name one good drama or action show I should watch on network television. Please......try and make me believe.

Network TV is shiet except for the occasional sitcom.

I don't think you have to look too far here. Try Hannibal.

Here's a little piece about it on IndieWire

quote:

“Hannibal” ran for three low-rated seasons on NBC before the network axed the drama. The network was only the distributor of the series and never owned the rights to project, meaning Fuller can revive the show if a new distribution home steps up.

Who cares? I'm totes excited about Queen Latifah's "Equalizer" program.

That's got to be a winner!

I will give it a shot given that Hannibal was done well. I am not holding out much hope for CBS.

yeah pretty ironic stance in this thread when literally the NBC show Hannibal was incredible and super dark.

My gut reaction would be to agree with you, but the network TV spinoff of the same Oscar winning movie that we already got kills your point. And then eats it.

The show is supposed to be AFTER the events of Silence of the Lambs and yet "Clarice" now looks like a 16 year old girl.

This is one of those IPs that feels like it's been dug up and pissed on so many times. Enough already.

No. They don't even own the rights to Hannibal Lecter.

CBS can make even the most intriguing premise into an unwatchable nightmare. After being sucked into Under the Dome, Zoo, and Evil, I’m very skeptical

CBS’s marketing department target the 55-110 year olds who fall asleep on their recliners after the 6:00 pm local news, occasionally waking to catch 20 minutes of a police procedural and the occasional dentures commercial.

Dino Delaurentis adapted Red Dragon as Manhunter in 1986, but even though it was good, it bombed at the box office.

Tom Harris published The Silence of The Lambs in 1988.

Delaurentis took as pass on adapting Lambs. Orion did it instead. Delaurentis leased the rights for the Hannibal Lecter character to Orion for $1.

When Hannibal came out 1999, Delaurentis optioned the book, and paid MGM (the current owners of Orion’s library) a fee to use Clarice Starling in the 2001 adaptation.

But, now you understand why Hannibal Lecter and Clarice Starling are owned by separate entities and can’t appear in the same media without a hefty fine being paid by one party.
