Damn you. Only movie I recall that I almost cried and pissed at the same time laughing so hard. What's funnier? Don't give me that Blazing Saddles bullshite.

It's great, but...

"Airplane!"
"Duck Soup"
"Shaun of the Dead" / "Hot Fuzz"
"Monty Python and the Holy Grail" (I personally think "Meaning of Life" is funnier, but it's more a collection of skits than normal movie)
"Animal House"
"Caddyshack"
"A Fish Called Wanda"
"The Jerk"
"The Naked Gun"
and, yes, "Blazing Saddles" because you can't leave off Brooks and while I think "Young Frankenstein" is better, it's much funnier if you've seen the original Universal pics and not everyone has. Or the underrated "The Producers" (the Zero Mostel, Gene Wilder, Kenneth Mars version, not the Matthew Broderick one.)

Nice well trodden answers but no. Formulaic drivel.

Only Borat captures the spontaneous comedy of the tragi comedy that is modern existence that can't be scripted or rehearsed. Pure id. No filter. No acting, just reacting. Its not a piss on America, its a piss on the world.

Just because you haven't seen them, that doesn't mean they're formulaic. Honestly, dude, if your rejections are going to consist of "not Blazing Saddles!" and "not these other movies that people consider funny," you should just turn off the computer and go indulge your own tastes without bothering the rest of us. We're not going to start listing movies that nobody else considered funny just to have a vewwy spweshul answer that you haven't heard praised before. So don't be a frickwit. There are few things in the world more frickwitted than making up your mind to reject all answers and dismiss them because they are actually embraced by other people. Borat is funny. You're just a frickwit.

Er...a large portion of it is, in fact, scripted. How do you not know this about the movie you consider the greatest comedy ever?

Meeting Pamela Anderson. Yep that was scripted. What else? Bringing his shite in a plastic bag during a formal dinner and getting kicked out while he invited an obese black "hooker" actress over? The reactions weren't scripted. When he hopped on to an RV with USCe frat boys and discussed certain racial subjects weren't scripted. Bitch he had a ton a lawsuits to deal with after that film. Btw I've seen all those films that were listed multiple times. Some were funny, some were shite. None were as funny.

Very boring movie. I didn't even finish watching. To each their own.

Bruno does a better job of that than Borat. But Borat is a more generally accessible movie.

I'd put it on the opposite end of the spectrum. Borat was fricking awful.
