Is anyone watching The Regime on HBO/Max?

Stars Kate Winslet, Matthias Schoenaerts, Hugh Grant and others.

This show is absolutely nuts. If I had to try and describe it, I would say it's a dark dramedy?

I watched the first 2 episodes, couldn't get into it. Does it get better?

They ramp up the crazy every episode. I keep thinking it's going to level off, but they keep managing to make it even more nuts every week.

I can't say that it gets "better" really, but it's like watching a slow motion accident with progressively more gruesome casualties the longer you watch.

It's still humor/satire but it gets darker and stranger every episode.

It's like every character is an avatar for a distinct type of personality disorder and the entire show is asking "what if you put all these types in one room and then gave them the power of governance?"

sign me up. Dark dramedy that’s nuts? Sounds like White Lotus.

That's the closest comparison I could make, but somehow darker/weirder.

So White Lotus meets Beef…

That's a fair comparison except you are rooting for absolutely no one.

Are you sure this isn't a documentary?

I keep getting Turkmenistan Dictator and Western European Royalty excess vibe from the characters

also the into music graphics like GoT tells the story ,,which ads an interesting artistry to the story

there a lot going on
maybe too much with one-dimensional characters

its timely , I'll give it that

the sycophants exhaust me
its

I've been waiting for someone to start a thread on this. I have loved it and am really looking forward to the finale on Sunday. Kate Winslet is fantastic in it as his Schoenaerts.

My only complaint is that I cannot watch the intro. It's too chaotic.

+1 on this. Wouldn't be surprised to see either or both get some Emmy consideration.

Dark and occasionally very funny.
Kate Winslet is having a blast with her role.

Series finale coming up I think.

Yes it is. And just like every other week, I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen.

I'm still committed to finishing it but I can't recommend it to anyone else to start watching it.

Just finished the finale. Crazy series.

As nuts and out of control cartoony as this show was, did anyone else find certain aspects of it hauntingly realistic?
Considering what is happening in the world right now.
