I wasn't on this board when this came out. I liked it a lot. I thought it was funny as hell. What is the boards thoughts on it?

Tony Stark is turned into a crying pussy who is too scared to fight. He gets "abandoned" in Tennessee? Just have a private jet fly you another suit or go to the airport and fly home dipshit. Or have Jarvis at your office tell another suit to fly to you.
And don't even get me started on what they did to one of my favorite comic book villains.

I didn't hate this one like 90%+ on this board. I liked the fact that the movie was more about Tony Stark than the suits but there were certainly some parts I didn't care for.
The whole Mandarin angle could have been wrapped up nicely by having him wandering around in a post credit or mid credit scene and have him find the rings. Simple 10 second scene that would have appeased the comic fans and set up the possible use of the character in the future.
As much as people hate this one, it has been rumored to be the key to Avengers 2 in a way. Should be interesting to see how they develop it forward.

I just think they went the wrong way in attempting to maintain the sense of realism in that universe. They decided to just remove the magical aspect of the Mandarin rather than maintain the relation to the comics. It was a poor choice. They should've just went with the magical aspect.

I wasn't familiar with the Iron Man comics. I understand what the comic fans are saying, though. If DC were to make the Joker or Brainiac like Marvel made the Mandarin, I'd be pissed.

Telling Villains where you live then don't set any protection up. Fairly silly given the tremendously silly House Party at the end. Why didn't he say House party to start the film?
Iron Man movie with 90% less Iron Man until the end.
Mandarin. Enough said.
Pepper Pots firing blast with just the arm of the suit even though it wasn;t attached to a power source.
Plenty of good vids on Youtube point out COUNTLESS errors and plot hiccups.
Movie sucked. Yes it is as bad as most on here think.

It was OK. I had time to think about it it's better than I thought it was. Big problems I had was that freaking Pepper took out the bad guy like it was nothing, after what I felt like a satisfying way to kill him with the Mk42 suit. Also Killians motivations were very cliche and was hoping that they'd tie his motivations to the results of the Avengers. Here we just had an alien invasion and all he cares about is war profiteering between warring ideologies etc. Was hoping they'd make his motivations that as a result of the avengers i.e. he'd want to elevate humanity to compeat with the new threat of aliens. Would give a nice messiah complex to the villain and almost want him to succeed.

The Avengers was a tough act to follow, for sure. CA 2 pulled it off well. They tied in The Avengers perfectly. Iron Man 3 definitely got of the path so to speak.
