I liked it better than The Avengers. While I like the twist with the Mandarian, I wish they saved the twist for a different villain. He could have been one of the all time greats if given more to work with. I also saw a missed opportunity when Pepper wanted to kiss Tony. She should have went to kiss him only to find no one was behind the suit. I also hated that they didn't kill Pepper.
wut?

I do. I liked this one better simply due to liking Downey more than Garfield. Movie to movie, I think the script is better on the Amazing Spiderman but Downey can just tote a movie better.
I was thinking about this the other day and I can't figure out why they didn't try to explain why no other heroes came to the side of Stark. They really left a giant hole with this little thing. They acknowledged that the Avengers existed but while Stark is getting his teeth kicked in, no one came to his side. They could have filled this void by simply saying that the Avengers have their own problems: ie Captain is fighting (fill in the villain for the new CA movie).

Yeah, they could have said Thor is in his world and Banner is MIA.

I pondered this as well, but the explanation, apparently, is that Captain America 2, Thor 2, etc, all take place "at the same time" as the events in Iron Man 3.

I get that all the events potentially happen at the same time, but 45 seconds of explanation would have at least explained it. Hell, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Fury have jack shite going on and they weren't even in the movie at all.

I did like that he gets panic attacks. Make these super heroes relatable. Why did they set it at XMAS when they knew it was a summer release?

Am I the only one that heard the part where Jarvis tells tony that they just got the cranes to the house to clear the ruble? That's why he couldn't get the suits any sooner than the final battle.
Stark builds 30 state of the art Iron Man suits but the only way for them to exit is with a crane to remove the rubble from his house after it's been destroyed? Color me skeptic, but this sounds fvcking retarted.
Also, someone else mentioned it, but it pissed me off how much these suits sucked dick. Like they said, the first generation one could all-but bitchslap Superman yet these new ones are like plastic Buzz Lightyears.

So what the hell are they going to do with Tony now?
Have you not seen the end of TDK? I'm sure he will be retired for years only to return when the Avengers have no where else to turn.

I also hated that he decided to destroy every Iron Man suit he had at the end.
Again, they don't want these robots taking center stage in Avengers 2.

Worst after credits scene ever.

You may want to talk that over with Drago, as he's under the impression that the "suits weren't ready" at that time. Yet, they were somehow ready by the final fight scene, despite the fact that Tony had not worked on one of them since the helicopter scene.
And, as another poster mentioned, the "rubble" excuse is ridiculously weak. We've see these suits tear through fighter jets, deflect tank missiles, and break through concrete barriers with just an iota of velocity.
Yet, in Iron Man 3, the suits struggle to break through wooden sheds, become demolished by 18 wheelers, and now, apparently become impeded by a pile of rubble.

The actress who was in the opening scene and later joins Richie was a horrible actress.

So a God, a superhuman, and a green goliath are going to turn to a 40 something year old guy whose only two "gifts" are wealth and intelligence now? He 86ed his only equalizer - the suits.

Says who? Who said they had to take center stage? shite you think they wouldn't have helped in New York?

You'd think SHIELD would want to get involved after terrorists blow up Air Force One and kidnap the President

I liked how Tony parked his suit like a car.
I am shocked this film is getting so much hate. I loved it. I rank the films: Iron Man, Iron Man 3, Avengers, Captain America, Thor.....,Iron Man 2, Hulks.

it was hilarious and action was pretty cool. I liked the plane sequence, but it was a dumb movie. shallow plot, plot holes, and cocky idiot character with cheesy villain

Anybody else notice that Shane Black sets all of his movies during Christmas? Iron Man, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Lethal Weapon, The Last Boy Scout, The Long Kiss Goodnight, etc

[quote]My only problem is that this isn't a closed off movie universe like TDKR was where the end is the end. I know Tony is back for The Avengers 2, but how? He's walked away. He's not Iron Man anymore. He gave up the suits, he gave up his past. So what now for him?
If you stay to the end of the credits, after that sequence, you'll see the title card appear that reads...Tony Stark Will Return

I didn't say that it was the greatest explaination I'm just saying they gave a reason. I'm one of the few that liked 2 better than this one. I didn't care for the suit army at all. How many times did he get hit by a car in the first two? the suit gets hit by a truck and crumbles. Seems like these suits weren't built up to the same specs as the first few. Maybe they were made in china.
I think the whole thing of him blowing up all the suits was him getting over his obsession. Now his obsession is Pepper. He'll still be Iron Man but wanted to show that he's over being that guy that obsesses over them. He'll rebuild just like batman did in TDK.
