I can't remember seeing a movie with more cheesy jokes than this one. . .

Really disappointed with the whole thing. The trailers gave me hope that this one would be better. It was not.

Doesn't surprise me. I never watched it, and never plan to.

With my original reply at the top of this page, I expected to be in the minority about IM3. But after reading the first three pages of this thread, there seems to be a consensus that this movie wasn't good.

I liked this and don't get the hatred. I realize there are inconsistencies but there always are in these kind of movies. I just went with it. If I had any real question it would be did the Mandarin actually shoot that guy?

Has it been pointed out yet that Killian's origin was a blatant rip-off of The Riddler in Batman Forever? Scraggly-haired scientist who fricks with people's brains is shunned by the billionaire protagonist, which inspires him to become a madman?

Oversimplification. Killian was going to do what he was going to do whether or not Stark helped him. Stark just gave him a target. Besides, Maya Hansen created the Extremis, not Killian. Carrey's character was the creator in his movie.

The movie was good. Anyone telling you otherwise is showing their arse. Was it great? No. Did it live up to its potential? No. Was it still very entertaining? Easily so. At worst you can say it was 7.5/10 (I give it 8/10).

SPOILERS

I liked the film better than most in this thread.

Thoughts

- Kinglsey was great in his dual role. He went from a hated villain to a likeabl fool. I do wonder what they could have done playing it straight, though.

- It does suffer a bit of the IM 2 syndrome if not enough Iron Man. I did feel engaged during this movie, and liked the Stark scenes more than in IM2.

- I think they were going for more Stark in this movie. The point seemed to be that no matter the suit or lack of it, Tony WAS Iron Man.

- Too many "Suprise - Tony's not in the suit" moments.

- Loved the old school end credit sequence.

- Great villain, a welcome change from another guy in a suit.

I enjoyed the movie a lot.

A buddy of mine wants to see it and I have a free admit pass so I'll see if I can catch anything else.

Am I the only one that heard the part where Jarvis tells tony that they just got the cranes to the house to clear the ruble? That's why he couldn't get the suits any sooner than the final battle.

Liked it more than I thought I would. I wish they had developed the female villain more. I kept thinking how similar the movie was to a James Bond flick at times. I also liked the kids character. Did we ever meet the kids Mom? I think no which I thought was weird and probably got cut.

Right down to the "Tony Stark Will Return" at the end if the credits.

Now that you mention it, I believe I did hear this. Saw it after working 10 hours so I was a bit tired lol

yeah. It makes sense a bit though since they were a lot of concrete. If they tried to blast out with all the rubble on top of them it might have buried them more.

I enjoyed the movie, it's purely a popcorn flick. I didn't like the fact that they juiced Pepper just to kill her and have her come back out and why was Guy Pierce's abilities so much more than the other soldiers? You would think that a couple of them would have had some pretty badass abilities and this could have set up several baddies for other movies.

I did like that the movie was more about Tony Stark than Iron Man and the tone for that was set in the first few minutes.

More exposure to it? By the time they show them testing on the amputees, he already looks completely healed. He also regulated it well I guess, wasn't an addict.

No argument

It was mostly just his physical resemblance to the pre-riddler Nygma.

I liked it better than The Avengers. While I like the twist with the Mandarian, I wish they saved the twist for a different villain. He could have been one of the all time greats if given more to work with. I also saw a missed opportunity when Pepper wanted to kiss Tony. She should have went to kiss him only to find no one was behind the suit. I also hated that they didn't kill Pepper.
