I’d be shocked if Ultron didn’t have a backup of himself somewhere on the planet. That Nazi from Captain America did it, so you think Ultron in the very least would also do that just in case.

I don’t think he’ll be a major factor, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he had some sort of cameo in a similar manner as Red Skull.

I wouldn't be surprised. It's a comic book universe. Characters resurface all the time. But in Avengers they made a point to have vision say he deleted all the copies and the last one he kills is the last one. Remember that scene?

I remember it, but they could be wrong. His data could be in a flash drive locked up somewhere for safe keeping for a worst case scenario. You’d think it would be one of the very first things he did.

We're talking about a movie series that routinely brings people back from the dead. I'd think that an AI returning from "certain death" wouldn't be out of the question.

You have to prove yourself worthy to Thanos to have a chance, he's all about honor.

All of what you said, I didn't quote the rest.

Something else along these lines that struck me was the look on Thanos' face when Cap was resisting the power of the gauntlet. It's like he admired Cap's valor and how strong of a fight he was putting up.

Another point to add to your list is Thanos killed Heimdall only after he sent Hulk home out from under Thanos.

Cap seemed like an afterthought but really he can’t fight Thanos on the same level like Strange and Iron man can. I’m sure he does better in the comics but whatever.

I don't think Cap was supposed to be the primary player here. I'm sure he'll be more involved in the next one. Certainly don't think he was an afterthought. One, as I mentioned above, showed Thanos his fight and valor in resisting the power of the gauntlet for as long as he did. Thanos' reaction to this was obvious. However, Thanos did away with him after this, like he can do with pretty much anyone at that point. Two, the level-headed Captain America that ALWAYS has a plan and positive outlook, spoke the last words of the film from those left on Earth and it was a cry out of despair... "Oh, God." If that line had been spoken by anyone else, it would not have carried as much weight as it did.

That’s just messed up man. On another note, if/when Thor rebuilds Asgard on Earth, it would be cool if Lady Sif was at his side. Surely the writers can come up w/a simple solution as to her absence. They might go with Valkyrie though.

The Russos have basically confirmed this. Originally there was going to be some reconciliation between Tony and Steve, but it took up like 30 minutes, made the script more sloppy, and they realized that the central focus of this film should be Thanos at pretty much all times. They’re saving that for the sequel.

Apparently she dies off screen.

Sadly, it seems Jaimie Alexander's popular Lady Sif is also dead. Alexander's schedule was unable to accommodate filming of Thor: Ragnarok, which probably prevented her character being killed by Hela. Most fans have assumed Sif simply wasn't on Asgard at the time of Hela's arrival, and instead was on a mission of some kind. Sadly, it seems Sif's absence from Ragnarok was only a matter of delaying the inevitable.

In an interview with HuffPost on Friday, directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed the fates of various Marvel characters we didn’t see in “Infinity War.” Did they turn into dust? Are they safe? Are their statuses too spoilery to even talk about?

Howard the Duck

Status: He's safe

Director's Comments: “He survived,” said Joe.

Jane Foster

Status: Too spoilery

Director comments: “When we say spoiler, [we mean] potential spoiler,” Anthony clarified after I was a bit shocked they couldn’t comment on Jane.

Actor Loki (Matt Damon)

Status: He’s dead.

Director comments: “Did not survive,” said Joe.

Betty Ross (Liv Tyler)

Status: She’s dead too.

Director comments: “Gone,” said Joe.

Korg and Miek (Taika Waititi)

Status: Too spoilery

Director comments: “Spoiler,” said Joe.

Shuri (Letitia Wright)

Status: Weirdly unknown.

Director comments: “Spoiler,” said Joe.

Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander)

Status: Super dead.

Director comments
: “Gone,” said Joe.

Ned (Jacob Batalon)

Status: Too spoilery.

Director comments: “Spoiler,” said Joe.

Aunt May (Marisa Tomei)

Status: Aunt May is OK.

Director comments: “Safe,” said Anthony.

Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o)

Status: Unknown, but probably safe because #WakandaForever.

Director comments: When asked why she didn’t appear in “Infinity War,” Joe said, “She’s on missions.” Anthony added, “Yeah, deep undercover.”

Right, and isn't that what most fans of movies really want...despite what they claim?

I've never quite gotten this complaint, and maybe it's a more modern one, but I don't recall anyone bitching about the original Star Wars or Indiana Jones movies not having any sense of gravitas because main characters were not dying all the time.

We went in KNOWING they were not going to die, and if done right, still felt they were in peril during the movie.

Now...if movie goers have simply become so cynical that they can not suspend disbelief for long enough to sense the loss of Peter Parker in Infinity War because they know that he'll obviously be back later because he's the lead in a huge potential franchise, then maybe these movies are not for them.

Abrams has pretty much stopped doing that. His wife told him that it was getting obnoxious and he needed to drop it. She should get an honorary Oscar.

Just watched it for the second time. Still a great movie. Music was great. Comedy was just enough in the right spot. Thanos is such a good villain. Very powerful and complex.

Maybe I missed it but what happened to the gauntlet in the first Thor movie? Was it too small or something?

I just just got out of my second viewing as well. I still liked it but definitely not as much as the first time. I actually started getting bored during the third act.
