My prediction from the IW Trailer thread:

Prediction: That's Banner in the Hulkbuster Iron Man suit.

Darkseid is stil a much better villain as he's pure evil and there is nothing but malice, cruelty, rage and hate in his mind and blackened heart and he only seeks control of the universe and outright annihilation of it if he can't enslave it. If DC can ever get him right in a movie, he would shite all over this version of Thanos who thinks he's doing what he's doing for the right reasons to better everyone and the universe. For example, after getting all the six stones, Darkseid would've killed all of the avengers still alive in Wakanda instead of leaving them there like Thanos did.
Everything in this entire statement is wrong....you should be impressed that you typed that much out and got absolutely nothing right.

Something wrong with that?
Go back an reread the Black Panther thread and then reconsider your statement.

Yeah. I'm not going to do that. I don't care, and neither should you. If people have dumb opinions, it's not my job to convince them they are dumb.

Lets not re-argue that stupid shite in this thread please.

People crying because they just saw a movie where a bunch of characters died (but said characters are already scheduled to appear in future movies).

Saw the movie late last night as kind of a spur of the moment thing. Didn't plan on seeing it till next week.
I enjoyed it a lot. Probably 7.5/10 for me.
Few thoughts:
1. The comedy is still gold imo and used very well, and not excessive.
2. Red Skull really surprised me. I read a few spoilers, so I had an idea what was going to happen. I didn't expect to see him.
3. They did the half population "dying" well. It didn't seem like they were being killed per say, just being removed from existence in a "pain free" way. It made it not as extreme for people who didn't see it coming.
My wife absolutely hated them all dying, but she doesn't really know the story.
The movie made me more anxious for the next one than any other movie with a follow up in some time. Can't wait to see how they handle the next one.

2. Doctor Strange saw how this had to play out - Strange is very very calculated. He wouldn’t have turned over the stone unless that’s what happened in the one future in which they won. That wasn’t a move to save Tony, that was a chess move to set everything else into motion that needs to come to pass.
Well, that's not a theory, that's exactly what happened.

I have to agree with this. As much as I loved the movie, it made me very anxious for the next one.
My biggest gripe was with Captain America. Other than his introduction in the movie, I just didn't enjoy him like I had in the previous movies.

I like Gritty Cap. I'm not prepared for him and/or Stark to bite it in Avengers 4, though. (I do wish the Wakandans would hook Cap up with a proper shield, however).

Haha I didn’t put that one point as a theory per se, just something to further back up the rest of my theory on how they take this

I really thought they were going to get him his traditional round one but with a Wakanda theme/paint job.

Still processing this movie in my head...
You have to prove yourself worthy to Thanos to have a chance, he's all about honor.
The giant dwarves didn't put up a fight when he came for the gauntlet, and he massacred them all.
When he arrived on Titan to claim Strange and the Time Stone, and saw Iron Man ready to fight, he remarked- so my henchman (Ebon Maw?) is dead; but he did his job. Wasn't snarky or taunting, more like Thanos took a moment and gave a nod to the guy who gave his life doing his task.
Iron Man stood against all odds and took a moon to the face, and still was swinging. Thanos told him then that he would spare half of humanity, and hoped they would remember him.
When Strange gave in to save Tony, Thanos said "no tricks". Far as I could tell, there wasn't (unlike Loki's attempt). Thanos then left without killing them; on the other hand he killed Loki for his sneak attack.
He commented to Star Lord "I like you", after the Guardians fought him.
He actually reached out to comfort Scarlet Witch after she destroyed Vision.
Just multiple other examples, big and small, illustrate that. Thanos knows he's going to win, especially as he starts piling up the Stones. He takes his time to observe and judge each person he faces. And he finally makes the statement that someone needed to make the hard decision, which jumps out as he really wasn't in this for the bloodsport. He regrets it, but truly believes it must be done.
The fight at Wakanda was unnecessary, he could have just teleported through the shield himself and cleaned everyone's clock. But he allowed the heroes to show valor (if they would). Only the strong survived once that was over, and then he pared everything down to what he saw as a balanced population, with the weak already removed from the equation.
There was a comment when he sacrificed Gamora, that he wasn't going to make the same mistake this time or something like that. What's he referring to, showing mercy and allowing everyone on Titan to die?
That's the key to winning this, you don't beat Thanos, you have to somehow convince him there's a better way. Just my opinion.

Darkseid is a better villian as he is pure evil
Darkseid- at least in his Omega version- is above good and evil.
Thanos in his MCU incarnation has had his fixation with Death removed and has had it replaced with a "sense of balance".
I think they are both very different and there's no telling how DC will hàndle their bad guy.

Cap without his shield was a big whiff (IMHO). Wakandan science can instantly come up with an option to de-stone Vision... You'd think they could shite out a shield fairly quickly.

Well, Cap is technically Nomad now so him not having his traditional shield is a good way to show his separation from the US Gubment

quote:posters? i think you should have said there are some people em america who ole care about black people. your statement would hve been more correct if you said that.
But there are some posters whose worldview is seemingly threatened by the presence of black superheroes. As though the underlying principles of heroics can only be limited to a certain subset of humanity.
