Alright, if you had to do a remake give me:
Brody - Oscar Isaac
Hooper - Jack Black
Quint - JK Simmons
ETA: I might substitute Jason Segal for Jack Black.

Jaws is my favorite movie of all time. I hate the idea of a remake and all these choices besides maybe Crowe as Quint and Isaac as Brody.
Those 3 were so damn perfect in their roles, if Hollywood ever remade the movie I'd want the characters to be completely different. Like have Woody Harrelson as some old crazy deep sea fisherman that flies in or something and Russell Brand as Hooper. Don't bastardize the greatest trio in movie history to me.

Hmm. Jaws came out in summer 1975. Interesting that he died the next year, when he had starring roles in movies Black Sunday and The Deep (another Peter Benchley adaptation) which were released in 1977.
(He died in summer 1978, three years after Jaws came out). But yes, he was only 51 and died of a heart attack. So he was actually only about 47 when the movie was being filmed in 1974.

QUESTION????- Do you keep it set in the early seventies or make it current day. Cause if you make it current day then you have to lose the entire USS Indianapolis scene and that would be a travesty.

Robert Shaw made Jaws what it is and really couldn’t be replicated

Jeff Goldblum is 70.
Matt Hooper was likely in his late 20's, early 30's.
Richard Dreyfus is even older than Goldblum. That'd be an odd change up.
(I got Jaws release date mixed up with Star Wars. Oh well)
