After seeing the Truman Show for the first time, I, and sure almost everyone else, thought, "What if my life was being filmed for a TV show?" Of course, then you simply cross out that idea because your life has to be real, but then again, what if you just never noticed. There really is no way to prove that is not filmed as incredibly far-fetched as it sounds. To me, that is why The Truman Show is such an interesting and fun movie.
Unless the whole world is in on it and they somehow hide my show's existence from me right when I walk into the room, I highly doubt it. Truman was only subjected to a single town. I've been fairly well traveled. Plus it would be illegal.

Also, he was the kind of person who would have fallen in line, so to speak, had they gotten pregnant and had kids. He was a good-hearted person who wanted to love his life, but felt that something was missing (based on the frickups by the show). That's why I think that had he and his wife gotten pregnant and started a family, he would have let those deep feelings die inside of him instead of continuing to explore and investigate things. He would have "done the right thing" and stepped up and been tehre for his family. At least IMO.
I can see this, but he did not want to raise a child in a world that he was not content in.If he ended up with that girl he met in college and she kept her trap shut, then he probably would have had kids and been oblivious. If Truman had a loving marriage, then I think he would have remained blind to it his whole life, but he didn't and yearned for something outside his own bubble. Also a kid I think would have made him evaluate his world more, so its more of a 50/50 for me.

Yeah its a frickup, but still from that it would just be a matter of time before Truman snapped because of his loveless marriage and try to leave the town.
What I mean is that his larriage is somewhat lovelsss because of that chick that he lost. Had she never been introduced, his marriage would likely be normal.

I haven't seen the movie in years so this might be an easy one, but why couldn't Truman see the show on TV? Did the networks set it up to where he didn't get that channel or something?
He only got the classic shows. He didn't get anything from the outside world. Just a matter of time before Truman pops up on the news or Entertainment Tonight without them knowing if they allowed outside broadcasts. I'm actually not even sure if they told Truman the truth on what year it was and may have said he was in the 50s or 60s or something.

I don't think so. Its established in the film that not only does his wife not love him, but she doesn't even like him. Truman sensed this and I think thats a big, big reason he wasn't content. The girl he fell in love with loved him back, and if she had kept her mouth shut, then Truman would probably have never found out about the scam.
