Tarantino is kinda hit and miss with me, though I really liked Basterds. I watched Django because my friend loved it and pestered me about it forever, and I ended up really liking it. I thought the time flew by and I thought Foxx, Waltz, and DiCaprio were all perfect. I even liked Don Johnson.

Yeah, tbh I'm not a tarantino fanboy. Just happened to really like Basterds and Django

I really like it, but after reading the original script, I know it would have even been better if they would have kept all of the original stuff that was cut for one reason or another.

I hope Tarantino does something a little more original with his next project. It's fine that he wants to make homages to films he loves and put his signature on the genre but after Basterds it feels like he's beating a dead horse. The problem I have with the final act isn't the violence but the fact that it's so predictable - it's something you just come to expect from Tarantino now.

And the fact that King begins to randomly moralize after killing a man in front of his kid and watching a slave beat another to death and gauges the other's eyes out. It's a scene where Tarantino loses his magic. It's transition for the sake of progression; something he usually handles with much more grace. It's jarring.

I agree. As I said, the guy was a cold blooded killer. It made no sense that he would have flashbacks of the slave being killed and he would then just decide to end it. Knowing he would be dooming himself and Django with wife. Just made zero sense and it didn't need to end that way.

He could have refused to shake Leo's hand and Leo could have decided to kill them.

Then the shoot out with Django and Broomhilda was over-the-top cheesy and didn't really fit in with the rest of the movie.

Is this the first QT movie you've watched? All of his Shootout/Action scenes have over the top violence.

I've seen all of his movies except for Grindhouse & Death Proof, which I have no intention on seeing, and the shootout in Candie's house is by far the cheesiest. Also it
