It's not so much the throwaway line, no matter how cringe worthy it was. Look at the bigger picture. Was there a single virtuous or honest white character? Thomas Wayne - corrupt. Martha Wayne - insane. Alfred - duplicitous. Obviously the villains.

Now look at the other side of the slate. Who was the mayor-elect who will save Gotham? Commissioner Gordon? Even the POC "villain", Catwoman, was pure in her intentions.

This type of casting and effort isn't coincidental. To argue otherwise is being OweO levels of obtuse.

Call it what you want, and I know that my work ethic has played a large part in where I am, but I have to acknowledge that my ethnicity has always been an advantage for me. The only bias that I may have "suffered" is my age, as young college graduates are more affordable and don't stay around long enough to tie up salaries and other resources.

Then you should give up your job since the main reason you have it because of your color. Surely you can get just as good of a job somewhere else. Demand you are fired and your job given to a person of color. Otherwise you are just a hypocrite and spewing this crap to make yourself feel morally superior.

Lol. What a bunch of white guilt nonsense. Quit then. Give up your cushy job to some minority who hasn't had the same "advantages" as you. It's the right thing for you to do.

Not to mention the mostly white gang urging the black kid with the conscience to play the knockout game on an asian.

Just as an aside, was that kid in the knockout game the same actor who played Tim Drake in the series Titans?

The term may be misused and overused but I have lived a life where being a white guy has put me in the job and social pools that were much harder for black guys to enter.

No it hasn't. You knowing people has nothing to do with your race. Anyone who wants to break into your field would make efforts to meet the same people, and there is such a push for diversity going on that most businesses go out of their way to make this happen...and often still can't find decent black candidates to hire.

With the racial mix of Baton Rouge, me consistently being in all to near-all white management teams is no accident of fate.

This is true, but not because of white privilege.

I’m not complaining, but sitting in a conference room with twenty white people in Baton Rouge isn’t by the luck of the draw.

Of course it isn't. This is because some cultures value hard work more than others. At this point, we've had decades of favorable hiring practices, favorable school admissions, and other favorable benefits to assist black people with getting into favorable positions. Failure to put in the work necessary to succeed by people who are given every opportunity in the world is often the cause. Other times even the favorable practices are the cause, because putting unqualified people into positions where they aren't capable of succeeding is a recipe for failure. Thomas Sewell talks about this often.

So Baton Rouge is full of black management material that aren't getting the jobs and the seats at the table just because they're black? Maybe BR needs a black mayor or something

It's true. The movie was pretty blatant in how woke it was.

I'll add that not only was the mayor corrupt (which is why Riddler killed him), but the new mayor was a black female lesbian with a white wife and a SON. That is such a specific demographic that I'm betting the number of people who could possibly relate to that character, worldwide, numbers in the 10s. Not 10s of thousands, literally the 10s.

The scariest part of the whole film was when she approached Bruce Wayne at the funeral and told him that she didn't think he was doing enough with his money. Imagine a politician saying that to you. A normal billionaire would simply move out of town at that point.

At least I'm honest about it. I'm as selfish as anyone else who puts feeding their family over getting any advantage thrown there way, no matter how unfair it might seem.

3 down votes for being right with no response.

i guess Pandy "frickstick" is one of them since he can't tell me what a "good movie" is.

I wouldn't call it honest. You feel like the inherent racism of your own white skin has given you an unfair advantage, but you're unwilling to give it up because of your own self interests. It just makes you a liberal.

Fascinating how no one can ever defend “wokeness” without name calling, rather telling.

if you think I used snowflake as an insult.

I used it in this context, ironically, to show OP how similar he is to the same people he makes fun of who get upset over stupid shite.

Anyone who cares, even slightly, about this one sentence in a 3 hour movie is just as ridiculous as the “snowflakes” who this board crucified whenever they get upset at something someone said.

Trying to show him he (and many other conservatives) are slowly becoming what they hate - mentally weak individuals who can’t handle hearing things that don’t align with their own personal beliefs

So...in your mind, a father figure is the same as some random chick you've never met before who can also influence tax policy that directly affects you?

At first I thought you were being sarcastic, but you thought this statement from you was so profound that you actually took an antagonistic stance when you didn't get a response quickly enough. Just a truly amazing display.

I can't believe you thought this was a good enough point that you doubled down on it before anyone even responded. It's hard to grasp how utterly ridiculous you look here. You clearly put no thought into your comment at all.
